Scope for 22 Pistol
« on: January 23, 2004, 07:05:01 PM »
I have been thinking about getting a scope for my 22 Browning Buckmark. I found a good deal on a 2.5x. Is that about right for a 22 pistol?

That will work good, but I prefer the red-dot sights on my .22,s. I can shoot very accurately to 50 yards with the red-dot. If I want to take a longer shot I use my .22 rifle.

2 1/2 X is ideal. Pistol scopes are not like rifle scopes in that finding the right eye relife when mounting the scope is alot harder and the field of view is alot less. One hint for useing a handgund scope, always shoot with both eyes open. Focus on your target with both eyes and then bring the gun down in frount of your shooting eye. When you get the scope just right your target will suddenly pop into the scope and you will no longer see it with the other eye. Set around the house and practice this, it will help a great deal when you go to the range or the field.
