Arab Americans/Muslims support Ron Paul as Repubs ignore them
« on: February 27, 2012, 09:17:25 AM »
Ron Paul is a good man; I support him. He doesn't stoop the low level that some fear-mongers favor. Will this cost him support from the xenophobes who like him?

Arab Republicans in the Detroit area say they are planning to announce a joint endorsement of Paul with about 150 mostly Muslim business leaders. In interviews with Yahoo News, those signing onto the pending endorsement expressed dismay with candidates like Newt Gingrich, who refers to Palestinians as an "invented people"--Arab Americans here jokingly call Gingrich "the invented candidate"--and Rick Santorum, for his hawkish stance on Iran and his stalwart defense of Israel.
"They've come out against practically every position that the Arabs in the community support," said Nasser Beydoun, the former head of American Arab Chamber of Commerce in Dearborn. "I don't think Republicans are focused on immigrants in general or Arab Americans. They're too busy catering to the fringes of the party."
Yahya Basha, a medical doctor in Royal Oak, Mich., and a board member of the American Arab Chamber of Commerce, told Yahoo News he was frustrated with the lack of outreach from the presidential campaigns, and although he is committed to supporting former Mitt Romney, he expects a sizable number of his fellow Muslim and Arab Republicans in Michigan to cast a vote for Paul on Tuesday.
"As a group, we like Ron Paul," he said.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Does this mean they will vote Republican and not for Obama?  Doesn't seem very likely to me.

Probably some of them will. The guy quoted sounds like he would. Why would we expect Arab-Americans to vote for Obama instead of Ron Paul?

Arab Americans/Muslims support Ron Paul

As usual your BS story line is not supported by the article. Nothing in it says Ron Paul is reaching out to them but rather that the will support him over the others who are all warmongers of the first order.

I'm changing your grossly wrong subject line based on the text you provided to more accurately reflect what it says.

Next we'll learn that Ron Paul is really a Moslem athiest without a public birth Certificate to prove he wasn't born in Mexico. ::)

I'd vote for a mexican born atheist who would honor the Constitution rather than the likes of the rest of the trash that will run for President in November.

As it stands now our choices will likely be a liberal democrat elitist who is completely out of touch with reality or a liberal republican elitist who is completely out of touch with reality.
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?

So, apparently, will some of our fellow citizens who are Muslims.

The candidates were asked to describe themselves in one word. Ron Paul answered consistant. He was right on with that answer and the only one telling the truth. It would be interesting if the candidates were hooked up to lie detectors during their debates. It would make a great reality show. Hay, I think I just got a million dollar idea.
