Ill tell you exactly what ill do. Ill vote for the appropriate freedom loving canadates until I get to the presidential ballot where there isn't one. At wich point ill likely write in Chuck Norris. Ill vote for Gingrich come our primary assuming its not a forgone conclusion by April (wich it will be.)

After all this drama here are you still not grasping that on a Republican ticket Romney is fundamentally unelectable. Go back and look at the numbers the liberal from mass pulls down fewer primary votes now than he did FOUR YEARS AGO.

If he couldn't beat McCain then he sure can't beat Obama now. The dems aren't going to win this election so much as the Republicans are going to lose it by allowing a gun grabbing socialist to hijack the system with obscene amounts of cash. If Romney didn't have half the money he does he would have been dispensed with before Herman Cain.

Now you answer my question. If you set the precident that an openly OPENLY anti2a president can get elected on the Republican ticket you will NEVER AGAIN see a pro 2a canadate. What are you going to do then? Juistices retire and die all the time. How are you going to replace them with pro 2a nominees if we NEVER have another pro 2a president.

Don't sell the entire future away over blind panic for such a mediocre president he can't even get a budget passed. Its just four more years. If we survived Clinton (a liberal gun grabber who could actually govern) we can surely survive Obama and his complete inability to accomplish ANYTHING.......aside from socialized healthcare.....oh wait Romney is for that too.

I believe I read somewhere that RP has spent more per vote received than the other candidates.  Something like $31 or $32 per vote he has actually received.

Excellent post R.W.

Conservatives who are willing to vote for an openly anti 2nd Amendment candidate are part of the problem, not the solution. Conservatives should only vote for candidates with strong 2nd Amendment backgrounds. Like you said, it's a slippery slope to go down to set the precedent that we, as conservatives are willing to accept anti gun candidates. This will guarantee that we will someday lose all of our 2nd Amendment rights.

Also, people seem to forget that it was Reagan who appointed Souter who was a very liberal judge. Selling our souls and voting for Romney does not guarantee conservative judges.

your answer will be moot in november.  for the simple reason that some folks will refuse to vote because their man didn't get the nomination.
they refuse to get rid of obama so we can continue the fight.  they would rather live under communism I guess.  the constitution will not protect you under a second obama term.

OH WOULD YOU STOP WITH THE MELODRAMA

No the point will be moot in a few weeks. There isn't enough rhinos and nose holders to carry a Romney to a presidential win. He's fundamentally flawed as a canadate and cannot beat Obama. He's literally a Kerry v2.0 remember the goal isn't to win the primary its to beat Obama. Winning the former doesn't necessary make you the best canadate to perform the latter.

This primary has all bet been decided.  But not with deligates won but rather with campaign contributioms made. Buisness has spoken they're getting the canidate they want. The problem is though buisnesses can't vote. The candidate they've chosen isn't one that can get the votes to win come November. Especially against an Obama who has just as much $$ to spend as Romney

Now since you're here answer my question like you said you would.

Doublebass73,

You must have psychic abilities to say you will not vote for Romney the socialist gun grabber.   I never said Romney would be the candidate, yet you accuse me of having hatred.   First, you base a response on a false assumption, thus invalidating the point.   I never made any claim that Romney will be the nominee.   Then, you accuse me of hatemongering, yet you go apoplectic in an anti-Romney tirade.    I believe that is the pot calling the kettle black.

You have made your decision, and will defend it with a frenetic zeal. I understand your position.  I can only pray to God that you join the ranks of the anti-Obama America. I have already decided my choice is an anti-Obama vote, and will actively work to cripple his hold on the Senate if he gets a second term.   This way, I will have earned my right to register my complaints.

It's done.  I have said my peace.   You need not worry about penning a response.   I am adding your name to the ignore list on my profile.

While Romney is not my favorite candidate, I don't want to sit around doing nothing while he is being accused of all kinds of things where he bears no guilt.  Such phrases trhown about as "socialist gun-grabber" seems to point to a minimal of research where the facts overwhelmingly show us a very different picture.
Nor should we be so naive as to think that among some 330,000,000 Americans, only one man is qualified to seek the presidency.

Learned a long time ago not to pay any attention to what a politician says he'll do. What one must look at is what a politician has DONE!

Now, when I look at a mans record I like to take a hard look at his actions concerning gun control laws and socialistic laws. I've found that if his behaviour pertaining to those two things agrees with my thinking, I can pretty much trust him on nearly any issue. And generally speaking if he doesn't fall in line with my thinking on those two issues, I can't even trust him to be left alone with a young goat.

Tell me again what Romney has DONE about gun control laws and socialistic health care laws in his state.........

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I never really hated anyone for their heritage, but I did rather ignore them somewhat.  Last school year, the wife and I had a high school senior from Ecuador living at our house, while my son who lives nearby with his wife and daughter, had a senior from Mexico at their house.  We learned to love those two girls as if they were our own children & grandchildren.  They called us 'grandma & Grandpa' while my son an his wife  were 'Mom & Dad"...
One is coming back for a visit about Easter time..the other one wants to return again also..

   Sorry about the derail..
..But yes, people can change, and we can hope that whoever the more conservative candidate is, come November..the fence-sitters will want to uproot the boy-king..

IG, good post.  I wish I was in better health, we'd have another exchange student.  it's a great experience. tell your latino daughters hey from my family.

back on topic, Ronald Reagan used to be a democrat.  my wife used to be liberal.
my younger brothers wife used to be a democrat.
as the democrats move farther to the left, more working people are waking up. BUT, the entitlement population is growing too.

People can change. But Romney is absolutely unapologetic about his previous anti 2a past as governor.

Hence his complete distain for the GOA (what this thread is about.) The closest he's come to doing anything beyond outright avoiding the issue is some confidential conversation he had with that crazy uncle nugent that we're supposed to take his word on.

I'm sorry that's not cutting it. His previous actions speak much louder than the hopefulness you guys read into his silence. Anyone who can vote for Romney has no buisness EVER being taken seriously on pro RKBA issues. If you'll whore your principals out that easily over a bit of Shean Limbaugh chicken little panic speech you might as well make contributions directly to "The center for handgun violence"

It all comes down to do you want to finish the turd sandwich you're halfway through now. Or do you start over on a different turd sandwich and hope it has a better flavor of poo?

Either way you the voter ends up eating €×}¶®

Ironglow, excellent post, sir.  Yes, those that refuse to vote because their candidate is not The Chosen only contribute to the accelerated decline of this great republic.    This year there are only two types of voters: (1) those who choose to directly, or indirectly, keep Obama in office, and (2) those who work and take steps to remove Obama from office.      There can be no middle ground in this election.

Keep up the good work of spreading the truth of matters.  The left is very good at false flag information dissemination.

Who said anything about refusing to vote?

I like how the one and only reason you guys can come up with for supporting Romney is that he's not Barack Obama.

What kind of an abysmally poor candidate are you when that's ALL that you have going for yourself? If that's all it takes to get your support for a presidential run that means there are about 310million other qualified candidates. Pick one that isn't in bed with the Brady center.

And what kind of principalless voter does that make you because you're (gun owners and supposed RKBA supporters) willing to support an UNABASHED gun grabber simply because of an irrational fear and panic the am radio hosts have whipped you into. The same guys who acted like the world would end if Clinton got reelected in 96 (like they are today)

I'm not voting for Romney because he's "not my guy" I'm not voting for Romney because HE'S A LIBERAL GUN GRABBER who's never seen a gun control measure he's unwilling to sign onto. Crap! on 2a issues Romney actually has a far WORSE record than Obama!  I think its pathetic that in this election Obama is going to be the gun owners friend.

And you guys are willing to support this clown (Romney)? What's it like to try to sleep at night knowing you have no principles?

Breyer and Ginsberg ... think about that!  Two Clinton appointees being replaced by a couple of Obama appointments.  OF COURSE now I see why the world as we know it will end? ...... not really.

Two justices who ruled in the dissent against Heller I might add. QUIT PANICKING! your fear is being churned up, manufacturerd, and used by the Republican establishment.  Don't be a stooge for em.

RW Dale,

Like another poster, you choose to operate on the assumption that Romney is the candidate.   At this point, that is a false assumption.  Otherwise, you must, also, have extraordinary pyschic abilities to see into the future.    There are individuals that have posted in this very thread who say they will note vote for Romney under any circumstance, which, by the poster's own statements, includes the general election if he becomes the candidate.

Again, this election will boil down to two sides: (1)those who choose to directly, or indirectly, keep Obama in office, and (2) those who seek to remove him.   Choose your side.....I have.   Your post mentioned something about principles??

Until there is a chosen candidate, I suggest you work on the principle [a concept your aspersions declare others who lack that disagree with you] of saving this country from the Obamination and his ilk.

This looks appropriate here:
I say (COMMON SENSE) tells me there is only one party with two divisions representing it to give the sheeple a sense of having some control over the outcome. It was pretty obvious from day one of the primary. Romney, Newt  and Rick were picked to run against the dreaded Democrat. The others like Paul, were there to give an impression of choice!

The voters in this country have voted party politics(Lesser evil) for as long as I can remember, and they continue to do it while the country continues to deteriorate.( I use to be one of the Lesser of voters.)Romney may not be as bad as Ombama! He may even be worse."Remember" We voted Bush in, and for that we were given the Department of Homeland Security, the beginning of the bailouts and endless wars. I'm sure They have more planned to give us with Romney or Obama.

The people have once again proven they deserve these shill's by failing to see the only real change candidate in the pack. The rest of us will just have to suffer along with them because of it. "And that ain't NO BULL!

some are trying to say that there is a bunch of Romney supporters here.  I don't see that.  I voted in the Ga. primary and it wasn't for Romney.  I will vote for the republican nominee in Nov.
GBO has a large membership, but it's just a drop in the ocean compared to the country.
for the RP supporters, he has some great ideas, but obama would destroy him in a debate.
I voted Santorum, but he might have trouble debating obama.
that leaves Romney or Gingrich.

BUGEYE,

Well said, sir.  I, too, am a Santorum man  -- the "true conservative" in this race.   I stumped for him in Florida, and I'll stump for him again if he is the candidate.  if Romney is chosen, I will just campaign for my the Republican candidate against Bill Nelson.

ironglow,

Excellent post.  You may be onto something.   A couple of individuals do come to mind.

KIMBER45,

Well said, sir.    The whiners get what they deserve.

swampthing;
I think most of them are sincere but a couple speak a strange language...
If we look at a non-partisan assessment, we find that of all the candidates which are running or have run this year, the support of the 2nd amendment is quite obvious.  No, Romney is not high on that list...but he is stratospherically above Obama.
http://www.issues2000.org/Gun_Control.htm#Barack_Obama  Just scroll down..  The leaders in defense of the 2nd amendment appear to be Palin, Gingrich, Perry, Bachman and Santorum..followed closely by Paul and Pawlenty.
A choice between Gingrich and Palin is a tough one..both very committed to RTKBA and freedom in general.  As you can see, Palin has perhaps the most positive view of all and Gingrich holds the second amendment sacrosanct..untouchable...here is Gingrich's statement:
  ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''"

"Don’t redefine Constitution with no individual right to arms"
Over the last 50 years the Supreme Court has become a permanent constitutional convention in which the whims of five "appointed lawyers have rewritten the meaning of the Constitution. Under this new, all-powerful model of the Court--and by extension the trail-breaking 9th Circuit Court--the Constitution and the law can be redefined, unchecked, by federal judges.
Anyone who thinks various Supreme Court decisions are not adequately worrisome need only look at the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to see how domination by secular Left-liberal judges will change America. It is hard to imagine that one court could be so out of step with the views of the vast majority of the American people. And it is unforgivable that this destructive pattern could have been going on for a generation without an effective challenge."
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

The others fall in line about as mentioned.  Now, I know some of you guys are thinking that Paul is "untouchable", but look at some of his votes..three in the middle of the list that start "Voted NO"..  Should gun manufacturers be prosecuted if a perp robs a convenience store of somebody else misuses a gun ?
While I am pleased particularly with Santorum and Gingrich, I would be pleased to vote for Paul or Romney over Obama.    Many here are claiming great loyalty to Ron Paul because of his stance on the 2nd and our constitution..think a bit..
Nobody has been a stronger defender of those things than Sarah Palin...and even Michelle Bachman.  Gingrich shows his high regard for the constitution regularly...one statement directly above..
Still; I have heard some people here who claim to be "constitutionalists" join the liberals in trashing both Gingrich and those ladies.  For months now, they have been trashing other Republicans much more often than they have Obama..
Frankly, as I see it..anyone who claims to be a "constitutionalist" and tries to trash those three great Americans..has to be a CLOSET LIBERAL.

If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

Anyone care to remind me what it was Governor Romney said about assault weapons? Or perhaps give a good sweeping example of how Romney Care differs from Obamacare? Oh and I'd still like to know his stance on ther U.N. and Americas involvement with it!

Anyone.....................?

You are absolutely correct this primary isn't over yet even if its getting close.

However it hardly takes being a psychic to see (just a basic grasp of math) that Romney has right at twice the deligates as his closest competitor santorum and is just short of halfway to that 1144 deligates needed to wrap this up.

I'm not so sure I trust any source that puts Romney ahead of Obama in terms of gun friendliness. Romney has put his name to multiple gun control measures. As far as I can find Obama has yet to do so.
