If you are so knowledgeable explain the recall on target 22's about 10 years ago ? about 17 Remington's about 15 years ago ? Both were poor bbl quality and they wouldn't hold a group.
Nothing worst than someone who is a uninformed spreading innacurate statements.

I surrendered to the much publicity roughly 10 years ago showing the Rem vls .243cal.  I was hooked. I ordered it from the Uk to Ireland.  Hell it wouldn't shoot inside 2.5in circle at a 100.  I did what i did to my Ruger, pillar bedded, free floated etc. Nothing changed only different paterns on target.  What i believe, if only we could read what our FACTORY rifles are trying to tell us, perhaps it would be possible to accurize MOST of them to acceptable accuracey .75inch grouping using quality factory ammo. before we begin to loose heart in the rig, and save a hell amount of time and hard earned bills! What i cannot undrstand is how did a Ruger hawkeye find  itself to europe with a bolt that wouldn't even eject the casing! This meant that it hadn't even been checked in the factory before shipment.  The only conclusion i could come up with.  Factory rifles must be manufactured so quick that the havent time to even check their mechanics. Customs rigs are of course excluded from this saga.

I have one question for all the "Big Remington Supporters" and I know I will probably get a BS answer.  If all the Remington 700's are so great, so accurate, 100% great why do you buy 50 to 100 of them over the years in the same calibers?  It seems to me the old saying "A fool and his money" applies. ;D    It gets rather tiresome that nobody can have a topic about rifles other than Remington without having the topic taken over by the Remington lovers disparging any other rifle and the other BS.  You might as well have this web site just be ads and Remington.

My dad told me if someone offers you more than you have in something, sell it.  I do....when someone notices you're shooting 1/4 MOA with an out of the box deer rifle with factory ammo, they'll make an offer.

As I stated here comes the pile!!  I would love to see some of your 1/4" groups if they are more than one shot which I doubt highly.

I only fool with 3 shot groups.  I've shoot dozens of 1/4 MOA groups with factory rifles.

i dont believe in 3 shot groups. Ive had to many lucky 3 shot groups that would have made me think I had an exceptional gun. Anymore when i shoot a load i shoot 3 5 shot groups and average all 3 together. If i say my gun shoots a one inch group its the average of 3 5 shot groups and not one luck 3 shot group. With a sixgun im even more sceptical and shoot 3 12 shot groups and average them. Its probably why i chuckle when guys claim every sixgun they have shoots one inch groups at 50 yards or a guy claims he can shoot a factory sporter weight gun into 1/4 inch at a 100 yards. Swampy you come here with 10 of your guns and show me that half of them will shoot into a 1/2 inch and ill pay for your plane ride. Do it with corelock ammo and ill give you your choise of the guns in my safe. Im talking 3 5 shot groups. anyone can get lucky once or twice. I mentioned paying your plane ride because if you drive a ford id probably have to drive half way to pick you up and tow your truck here too!!!! I think its kind of comical that guys will sit down on the bench and shoot all day and pick there best group out and claim that thats how well there gun shoots. Only one your fooling is yourself.

5 shot groups prove nothing.  Only the first shot counts anyway.  My 700 will shoot tiny 3 shot groups all day long.  A 1/4 MOA 3 shot group isn't luck.  I don't even know anyone else that can shoot one with a sporting weight .30-06 and factory ammo.  Never owned a GM product and never will.

The barrel of my Ruger 1-RSI 30-06 is half wrapped in wood, so when it gets hot, it stays hot for a while.
The way I judge its accuracy is how the first shot at the range today compares with the first shot at the range last time.
 
So far, so good. During deer season, I only shoot it once a day at most. (Not that I am some kind of Carlos Hathcock, but I just haven't had one come out later for a second chance.)

Well Swampy, I used to be with you on GM products always drove a ford.  :o I have a ford PU right now. I love driving fords. Fords just make me happy.  :o

However 3 years ago, one of our alaska missionaries was reasigned to new mexico and could not take both of his vehicles with him so he put his chevy tahoe up for sale. I wanted to upgrade my town truck, so I sold the dodge I kept in Anchorage and bought his tahoe. I really like it, I'd buy another.

Now me I always shoot one shot groups. Makes me look good. Of course I claim I put 10 shots in that hole.... Ya have a nice day now. And remember where the bible says all liars go.  ::)
