I have searched on the web and read through the proposed deer hunting rules for the 2012-13 hunting season and other than bag limit changes and minor date changes I found nothing. The early MZ season is still limited to 3 areas and the other season are pretty much the same. My guess is if DNR doesn't see additional revenues from pistol caliber rifle hunting then they aren't going to mess with it.
If you go to ODNR's website and search in the hunting section news you can find the dates and places for public comment on the proposed rules. IIRC, the meetings are fairly soon, maybe next week?
