Good story on the way you and I measure inflation. Basically, it's 8%, not the fictitious 3.1% used by the government to report the inflation on things we seldom buy.

  It becomes painfully obvious that the government is lying whenever we visit the grocery stores alone..say nothing about other goods and services.
  I believe groceries alone have gone up about 100% in the last 3 years..for example, the big can of coffee was about $5.79 some 3 years ago, today it is more like $10-$12..

YEP. Gas has dbld and so have groceries since obummer brought in all his czars to bless us. Had enough change yet?? Or do you even have any?? POWDERMAN.

I have to tell you fellas this. I have spent the same amount on groceries for the past four years.


That is about the time I started kicking kids out of the house. Real inflation has risen two teenage daughters over those four years . We either get this economy turned around or the last one is out the door in a year or so . I hate to give her up too, we have gotten to where we do a pretty good job raising them now.


How they can make their inflation claims with a straight face bogles my mind. People go on to quote those figures as if they were real.

Commodities have not gone up, well maybe a little.  But our dollar has gone down a lot more.  Rog

  Perhaps it is different in AK, in fact from my family who live there, I have discovered that many things are more costly to start with.  My sister & bro-in-law before they retired, had a trucking co right there in N Pole.  They hauled produce into F-banks from Seattle..other stuff out.  This cost had to be added to the price at Seattle.
   I don't know what others experiences are but mine are one inflation of over the last 2-3 years.
  However, things have gone up in the "outside"..  A can of soup that was .49 a couple years ago..is $1. Aloaf of bread which was $1.89 a couple years ago is closer to $3 now.
   ...And building materials will give you a heart attack..
   Apparently whan the boy-king's whiz kids from Haahvaad thought it clever to raise the cost of fuel, they didn't consider just how it alone (besides their regulations etc) would cripple our economy..
    I take that back...perhaps they did know...

  Don't let the prez & his advisers lie to you, These higher gas prices are just what he wanted !  They are not yet as costly as he would like them, but they are getting there..   According to his own words, about $6 per gallon would please him...for now..(see video, it's only 45 seconds)

  Even just a year ago, with our people hurting so much, the Secy of Energy would not consider more petroleum production here.  Instead, he talks about more "green", "pie-in-the-sky" ideas..more Solyndras perhaps ?
