I'm taking my wife to dinner tonight for our 36th.
since that's a form of recreation for us, (eating out) can I send the bill to my insurance company??

democrats think recreation should be free.  next, they'll levy a tax on anyone that feels frisky.
How much more stupid can democrats get???

I think all liberals should be required to take birth control and if they would pledge to never reproduce, I would contribute willingly to the fund that would insure it.

I believe I read an article in *Newsweek* you should read, PM.  It seems that 98% of moral, religious and ethical Catholic women use or have used birth control.  Do you really think they would vote for a president who thinks they should be in jail?

It doesn't matter how many people use birth control.  if insurance is forced to pay for it, it's unconstitutional and the higher insurance premiums hurt us all.
birth control is cheap enough for anyone to buy.

BUGEYE,
It is cheap enough to buy, yes, but many plans already cover fertility and maternity treatments.   This includes birth control pills and devices.  Those uterine insert things have to be paid for by insurance.    Obama just likes the power trip of telling people what to do.

junior. As always you didn't seem to understand what they are complaining about. It's not just against birth control, it's being forced to pay for it if they don't agree with it for, and heres the dilemna, for ethical, religious, and moral reasons. Those are things that obamaites do not understand. I have no problem with birth control, fine with me. I'm much rather see a woman on the pill than murder her child when she decided she didn't want it. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D

I don't agree because you are repeating a lie!

Show the bill if this is not the case, but he says that he has never introduced a bill or has never voted for a birth control ban, period.
He personally does not believe in it, which he is entitled to. The ones who are imposing in this case (& every case) is the Libs. They want to force those who don't believe in contraception to pay for it, big difference you can't seem to grasp.

It is amazing to see how Libs are so easily programed. We already know that Women have ZERO problems obtaining contraception.
Again, just show where he voted for this ban.

nancy pelosis shill that testified before an un-official commitee said law students spend $3000 for contraception during law school.
my wife says the real cost is closer to $480
I'm like Rush Limbaugh on this one, if she has to be paid to have sex($3000 worth of pills) she is down there with your basic street walker.

Where does it stop? People could have moral ethical and religous objections to paying for medical costs due to:
1. Fat people who get diabetes or heart problems
2. Drunks who get in car wrecks
3. Smokers who get cancer, heart or lung problems
4. Gays that get AIDs
5. Republicans with ED
etc.

I believe I read an article in *Newsweek* you should read, PM.  It seems that 98% of moral, religious and ethical Catholic women use or have used birth control.  Do you really think they would vote for a president who thinks they should be in jail?

That was a misinterpretation of the actual study.
The 98% came from restating that only two percent had said they had used only natural family planning.

The real number is more like "somewhat less than 68%".  The "somewhat less" is the unquantified number of disqualified respondents who are women of childbearing age who are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or post-partum.

While the data from the study may indeed be relevant to the debate, at least insist on accurate facts.  That study only looked at responding women who self-identified as Catholics, then only those aged 15-44years (7356 of them), then only those who have had vaginal intercourse at least once in their lives (~86% of them); and THEN only those who are not post-partum, pregnant or trying to conceive.

That is a smaller universe of women.

The data was reported in 2011 by Rachel Jones of the Guttmacher Institute, and was obtained from an earlier 2006-2008 National Survey of Family Growth, which relied on in-person interviews with 7,356 females from the ages of 15 to 44.  It asked them Yes or No to wether or no tthey have used any one or more of 12 types of birth control.

But whereas the study says that 98 percent of “sexually experienced Catholic women” have “ever used a contraceptive method other than natural planning,” the data shown in the report iself does not actually back up that claim. For example, A supplementary table in the report, on page 8, shows that 11 percent of Catholic women currently using no method at all.

the actual data http://www.guttmacher.org/media/resources/Religion-FP-tables.html

Jones said the correct way to describe the results of the research is this: “Data shows that 98 percent of sexually experienced women of child-bearing age and who identify themselves as Catholic have used a method of contraception other than natural family planning at some point in their lives.”
As she pointed out, “In social science circles, sexually active means you had sex recently. Sexually experienced means you’ve had sex at least once.”

So, sure, its still alot of Catholic women, but not 98%.  Just to be clear.

You do a good job with it! A lot of your threads seem to bring about high blood pressure from a bunch of posters!Speaking of being fed up! Try moderating on here! Most, do a great job of debating and sticking to the topic and not getting into personal name calling.A few, just can't seem to get the hang of it.So! Keep it on topic, quit the spitting contests and have a good debate.

In fact, more than half of pill users rely on contraception in part for medical reasons like reducing menstrual pain, treating excessive bleeding and preventing migraines. The overlap between women who also use contraception to prevent pregnancy illustrates how difficult it is to sort morality from health care — and why religion has no place in determining public policy.
