Especially nowadays when my main job is to try to make litigators out of new attorneys.
I call them my "baby lawyers" 'cause they remind me of baby birds sitting on a fence post waiting for daddy to come along and drop a worm in their mouths.
It hasn't occurred to them that attorneys are scholars by definition and they must, on their own, work HARD to acquire knowledge!
But it falls to me to try to move them from law student to lawyer... and what I have to put up with!
Being with them at least 8 hours a day and all that time being the center of their universe. Their mentor, confidant, confessor... a shoulder to cry on for personal problems... why I even have to talk to them about their um,
intimate relationships with boys...
It's no wonder they come to idolise me...
Thank heaven I only have them a few months! I just got rid of this one!
