Hey, I stumbled across this set of photos just a few days ago while researching one of my projects! I really like photo #22 and thought about posting it here, but forgot about it. Nice set of pictures, especially the ones that aren't quite as staged and show the little things of life back then that you don't normally think about.

I like image #22 also.  The stack of 8 inch grape is of particular interest.  In the field artillery grape was considered obsolete.  The nine 6 pdr shot that made up the 8 inch grape must have been very destructive.

These are pictures of the only confederate magazine left in the us.. At Fort Wright  Randolph Tn.

Image 33 is a good example of how fortifications can be built that protect the gun crews, but which restricts the field of fire for each gun.  To me the study of how guns were deployed is almost as interesting as the the guns themselves.  Note, I said almost.

The photo's depict nothing like I've seen in the moves about the civil war. Very educational for me.
