Is this high priced?

Found this on Gunbroker.  I know they don't make the 16 gauge anymore but isn't this a little high?  And the reserve hasn't been met yet.

In my opinion its very high, and chances are it does not have an American walnut stockset on it, either.
Most go in the $100 range..

my avatar pic is my 1960 Rambler I bought in 1972 for $175..6 banger 3-on-the-tree...drove it for 5 yrs  22mpg.. was "hot-rodding" (LOL) one night...tore out 1st/reverse gear. Drove it that way for 2 yrs(with no reverse and only 2nd and high)  Had to really plan ahead when parking.

Thats crazy high priced ! 16 ga.  and the 28 ga. were priced the same as all the others but people think they have something rare.  I buy single shot shotguns when I find them at a good price, in the last 2 years I have picked up 5, I found a H&R mod. 48  in 20 ga. and another in .410 I paid $ 60.00 ea. for those . I bought a 20 ga. topper with the slim profile barrel and a Pardner 20 in mint cond. and I paid $70 ea. for them I also found a Rem / Bailal 12 ga. in unfired cond. for $ 80.
  I go to gunshows and see many of the same guns in rough shape and there asking over $ 100 on these and usually wount come down more than $10 on them.
  I have probably owned a dozen and a half of various single shot break action shotguns and have never paid more than $ 80 ever for any of them even brand new. but I also beleive that a gun is worth what someone is willing to pay for it and I know if most people were as cheap ( thrifty ) as me companys  would not invest in new products and new models would not sell.

I was bidding on a Mod 48 12ga.in excellant condition. I give up at 125. It went for 225. I had just gotten 2 48 16ga. one for 85 and one for 95, one had a broken trigger guard and the other with a bugle in the barrel.But other wise both in near new condition.I did found a nice metal trigger guard and put it on.The other still shoots a nice tight group.Going to try both at the turkey shoot.  Later Tom 8) ;D

IMO that model 158 is way overpriced. Worth maybe $100-125 tops.  I too agree that a real walnut stock is unlikely.

Stupid High! If somebody wants it, sees it and don't want to look they will buy it for that. Some of the prices I,ve seen lately in the classifieds here have ade me do a double take as well. Even more surprising is that folks are buying stuff that's priced that way.

I just found another auction by this guy.  Topper 88 in .410 with a buy it now of $325.

Sent the seller of an winchester 37 priced over 300$ a private message once asking him if he realized it was a 37a.. He quite honestly wrote back that he was trying to "catch a fish" :(

He replied back to me that 410's are harder to come by in his area but he can find 12 gauges all day.  I don't see how that makes it work another $200.
 
EDIT: I see the auction ended and he relisted it with a buy it now of $225.  Still a little high if you know what you are looking for.

You can probably pick up a .410 barrel in the classifieds, and put together a gun that you like at a better price.
