I would warn you about after rust. If the rust kernel at the bottom of the pit is not killed (neutralized) it will continue and the paint will flake. Keep us upto date on the 1100's condition.. and good job. I've not used those products but it certainly appears they work well.

I did bead blast it and did hit a few of the deep spots with jasco prep & prime.  It contains phosporic acid.  The same thing found in naval jelly.
