Im going on a ram hunt and I wanna take ol faithful with me since its my only rifle. I was wondering is it even possible to re chamber my savage 30-30 pump action rifle to a 45-70 or .375 H&H?

wow, that is some significant change.
Off the top of my head I'd say a re-barrel would be the better option, but with good handloads, or even some leverevolution from Hornady ole meat-n-taters should do just fine against ram.

For the price you'll be into for reboring (if the action could take the extra pressure) you would be further ahead to pick up an inexpensive bolt action. This Mossberg in .338 Winchester Magnum is only $388 and they have these as low as $270 in other calibers and will surely do anything you need it to. A good old 30-06 version would work too.

There are many other problems. The action is not capable of cycling either of calibers listed. The rifle could be rechambered for the Improved version of the 30-30 but that 's about all. A better option would be to sell it and buy a different rifle.. luck,
