So, what is the 2nd smaller piece for?  The superimposed "suggestion" is for the rear stock from the large piece.  and, Come on Man!  $825.00 for a piece of DIY wood?  I think I could more easily purchase a chain saw and cut down a walnut tree...

Sounds like this guy must have picked some of them magic mushrooms while out looking for wood. I'd have to thing very long and hard even if the stocks were completely finished at that price.NOT!!!!!!!!

took me almost 2 minutes to find a comparable piece that is rough cut:

Still a bit more than I would want to spend on a Handi, but there are those who might

Hit the link again.  There is now piece even higher listed as other items from the seller.

So what in the world classifies a piece of wood as exhibition grade.  If some one put that on a handi would it be fore exhibition use only.

Wonder how many high end custom stock makers are looking on ebay

Doug Humbarger's 375JDJ is a good example of what a Handi with nice wood looks like.  ;)

The black walnut on that other site is not even in the same league, let alone ballpark as the exhibition grade English walnut.

For that kind of money I would personally dig up the tree in my yard and deliver it to you.

nope it's being able to see a diamond in the rough.  Picture it polished out like the other priceier one and next to a rust blued Mauser action.  Then tell me how much nicer it'd be with a different piece of marbled walnut for 700 more.

Just as I see the contrast from a Vespa to a Harley, I see the exhibition grade English walnut to be that much nicer. It doe not mean I would ever put it on a handi!
