I finally got the chance to shoot my new 45 GAP. I'm not in the least disappointed in this purchase. I've had 17's, 18, 22, and a couple of the 21's, and like those, dependability is there. Only got the chance to shoot 100 rounds of Speer Lawman 200grainers, but there was zero problems, which one would expect with a Glock. I started to settle down and get better groups by the time I got into the second box. Recoil is good for how light the gun is compared to my 1911. A firm grip, like on all Glocks, maintains control and accuracy. Found some info on reduced reloads (not as reduced as bullseye shooters use, but reduced from the Speer loads), will see how they do using 185grainers. I personally like the grip size compared to the 21's. The grip size really makes this model fit the hand. The round, feels to me, just like a normal 45 for recoil. Compared to the 40, the 45gap(or the 45acp) is a better round for follow-up shots. That is my opinion, I'm sure others will disagree. The only other round that makes double taps easy to do, is the 9mm, but I like the bigger hole of the 45. In time the 45gap will prove to be easily controlled for this, I was never able to do double-taps with a 40 with any accuracy. Only 2 drawbacks at this time, which I'm sure will change in time, first is the availability of holsters, 21 holsters can work, but would like to see something specific for this model. Second is loading of the mags. Stiff springs make loading hard, making it almost manditory to use the loader. Springs will probably soften up after awhile. Anyone considering buying one, should get it while the price is good(Glock is pushing the sale of this model using lower prices at most retailers). Whether or not this round sells well, the price will go up. Most of the ammo runs about $15 a box, reloading should be a breeze using 45acp dies.
