Let Canada build the Keystone.

I don't know if the pipeline is good or bad, but let's all understand ,
The Keystone oil pipeline project has never been intended to create refined oil for US consumption. Canada wants to use the  US as a middleman to reach tax free zone refineries. The refined oil will be sold on the open market to the highest bidder. That is exactly what Valero, one of the largest potential buyers of Keystone XL's oil, has told its investors it will do. Valero has planned to be a shipper and purchaser of keystone Pipeline oil since 2008.

I haven't seen the chevy volt up close yet , but I feel we should be investing in all forms of alternative energy R&D.
I could see where the volt may make sense and be quite applicable as a commuter city car.
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  That Valero refinery is at Port Arthur, TX.  My nephew works there and the refinery is busy.  The terminus is already built and waiting for keystone's arrival.  Valero can handle much more and will do so, enlarging if necessary..unless the Obamanites stop them.
   Building and operating the pipeline would provide thousands of jobs (Do we need jobs ?)  Enlarging the refinery and perhaps building more refineries would provide thousands more jobs (Can we use the jobs ?).
   Perhaps more important..between the Canbadian oild fields and our own Bakken field..plus ANWR (under an intelligent prez) could put those billion$$ in our purse, rather than sending those bilion$$ to terrorist sponsoring countries...DUH
   ..But then, B Hussein would like to "spread our wealth around".. even if it goes to the enemy..

   Uhh...  Ever wonder why Energy secy chu doesn't care if gas goes for $10 per gallon ?  See here;

Forbes magazine said excessive oil speculation adds $.56 to the price of a gallon of gas,  citing a recent report from Goldman Sachs, a major oil speculator.  Exxon Mobil, the Saudi Arabian government, the American Trucking Association, Delta Airlines, the Petroleum Marketers Association of America agree excessive oil speculation significantly increases oil and gasoline prices.

I don't believe we can drill our way out of this . Conservation, upgrading our energy Grids, investment in new
technology R&D and not putting all our eggs in one basket but having a national diversified energy portfolio , wind , solar, natural gas , bio fuels etc.. in my opinion is the long term strategy that must be employed. I don't believe there is a short term fix, we all need to just tighten our belts.

Even though only 25% of our oil is imported from middle east , I still believe Iraq should be repaying us back in oil.
and Kuwait should be doing the same.

I like the fact the private sector is willing to invest and improve in future R&D technologies such as the Chevy volts , Prius, and other hybrids. They are a positive step in the right direction.

   Lonny; that's what the link said.  He probably doesn't need a personally owned car...with taxpayer funded limos and all.
