Remington 870 Barrels can be fit to Pardner Pump?????

I saw a post on another forum saying this could be done.  Anyone know anything about it?

Why not just by another 870 or Pardner.  By the time you invest in a barrel you can almost buy a complete gun unless you are using a 18.5" cylinder bore.

I've seen 870 barrels for 80 bucks....can't buy a pump gun for that.  Besides,  I'm runnin' outa room :'(

Where are you finding them that cheap.  The average price for new ones right now is 160-180.

870 barrels have to be modified to work, the barrel ring is in the wrong position, there's a reply by Hibernian on a possible work around in the recent thread below.

Tim, that looks as if it would work.  Do you know if he ever tried it?  Just holding a tape to the 20 ga. tube, it looks like 7/8".  Not sure, haven't put the caliper on it.  If so the 3/4" would be too small and the 1" too large, but I'm sure the correct size could be found easily.
 
I didn't realize the Pardners were made in China when I bought it, or more than likely I wouldn't have.  Since it seems they can't import barrels at this time, you'd think Remington would simply move the band and make some Pardner barrels.

Dunno Pete, he hasn't posted since, last time he was online was the 21st, that's why I said it's a possible work around since he stated it "should" work, hadn't actually done it yet. I know others have just had the 870 barrel modified to fit,  I don't have a PP or I'd check it out, I think my son has an 870 tho.
