i am going to get a new rifle in a ADL 700 1:12 twist and the Savage is a Moedl 11 1:9 twist i am going to be shooting 50gr V-max bullets out of my new rifle which one would be the best way to go VM

Savage is kown for there accuracy just a suggestion

But will the light barrel model 11 shoot 50gr V-mav because it is 1:9 twist and the Rem is a 1:12 twist VM

:grin: I have the 12FV .223 and it has the 1-9 twist. It shoots .500 groups when I do my part. I have not shot anything less than 55 grain. My guess is that if your going to shoot 50's or less you might be happier with the 1-12 twist.

Lighter bullets and frangible types (SX and Blitz) will disentigrate with the fast twist rifles. However, with the fast twist you can shoot the heavier 60+ gr bullets have great stability due to their ballistic coefficient. If your giong to shoot only light weight bullets go with the 1:12 but for those long range shots on dogs the heavier bullets are the way to go and the 1:9. You cannot sucessfully shoot the heavier bullets in a 1:12 rifle-they will not stabilize. Have fun

Varmit Master : Go with the rem. you have already owned several and you know they are good guns. BTW congradulations on the new position when you get the new remington set-up bring it down and we can give it a run through here on the farm.

Thanks Jim nice to hear from you i have been going to make a trip down just to see you and how you was doing i think i will go with another Rem 700 ADL i dont have to camo the black works fine i had a gunsmith work the 22 250 over and it is a shooter for a reg barrel gun thanks good to here from you VM
