I hope Obama wins over Romney.  That way we can elect a Republican majoirty in Congress and keep him at bay for another 4 years.
I'm voting 3rd party in this election by writing in Jesus Christ for president.  Sadly even if this were an option most of you would still vote Republican because "It's a two party system."

I agree with your premise. I would prefer gridlock. It is the best hope to safe whats left.

Edited to add: I would prefer that gridlock with a first term president.

This quote is deep and adds so much intellectual meaning and validity to the discussion.

That may be. Do any conservatives on this board ever vote other than a straight republican slate? My guess would be very few.

You shouldnt be so pessimistic my friend.  Have faith in your party's ability to regain control. Remember, it's not just the conservative republicans that blow smoke up the a**es of the public to try and convince them that they are doing it right and gain votes.  I dont think Mr. Obama is quite as popular with the minorities as many may think.  The ones that I work with (and there are alot), don't seem to happy with him.  Almost every white person that I know who voted for him- admitts that they made a mistake.  I am sure the Obama administration is blowing just as much smoke as the reps.

swift, I think we've about reached the point where we're outnumbered by entitlement types.
plus a lot of people have said they won't be voting for Mitt,Rick or Newt.  so I don't have much hope anymore.

While I dont think that the people in this country that understand the importance of having a job (weather you are a rep, dem, libertarian, or whatever) are out numbered yet- I do think the entitlement crowd is growing quite large.  You might be surpirsed Bugeye, dont know how old you are or if you are still in the work force but there are ALOT of folks out there that still believe in getting up and going to work.  ALOT of folks from all walks of life.  We get alot of single moms that become correctional officers.  They opt to spend a 12hr day with criminals to provide for their kids than to have a working person's taxes provide for her and her kids.  Personally, I believe that the welfare thing will flip around. It's hard to judge what the truth is by watching it on TV.  BOTH sides are very deceitful with the truth.  Dont forget your signature line.  While you and I tend not to see eye-to-eye, I commend a person that stands up for and promotes what they believe in.

Ya, I would be bored to death if I couldn't work. When Mitch Daniels became the Govenor of Indiana, he really shut down alot of state jobs.  Those of us in the Corrections dept. were very worried that we were going to be completely privatized and downsized.  There was a lot of statements like this coming from all the ranks: "If I loose my job today, I bet I will be making your big mac tomorrow."  I think the welfare/ unemployment thing while it is bad- is also blown way out of proportion in both directions from both political parties to manipulate the voters. At least in my neck of he woods I have met more people that want to work than dont want to work.  And I live in a very democratic region.  Do some research on Gary, IN  Lake County, IN  Chicago, Ill.
