I recently purchased my second Krag (first one was 6.5x55 Swede) but the second one in great condition came with a 6.5x54mm Mannlicher Schoenauer barrel that bore the Norwegian Crown and overlaid KB marking of the Konsberg plant. I had seen several others report similar rifles on this forum with varying histories but none to date with the MS barrel being added in Norway. The receiver is dated 1901 and a serial of 519xx with about 4500 Krag Jorgensens produced in Norway that year. The rifle came with an ample supply of 140gr ammunition and had been used for hunting and target shooting but is in excellent condition, scrapes and varnish loss to the stock aside. Has anyone witha KJ with a MS been able to verify when and where the "German" barrel was added?
