Hi,
Do a web search for "steve's pages" and look at the cartridge drawings for the 280 Rem and 7 dakota. I just glanced at the drawings for these two cartridges and the shoulder and OAL for the 7 dakota are shorter than the 280 Rem which means you would need to set back the barrel to do this rechamber, which is not so easy on a break action gun. I didn't look up the pressure for the 7 dakota but but it has a larger case head than the 280 rem so breech thrust would be something else to consider.
