Range Report 17 mach 2

First time out w/17 HM2 w/17gr ely ballistic tips....cheap Simmons scope  60 yds  2   5-shot groups

Its gonna be a keeper
12g shortie w/chokes,Tamer .410,12g "Buck" slug gun w/20g extra barrel, 12g smooth bore tracker I, 45/410 w/22vp matched set, 7mm-08, .308 20",

my avatar pic is my 1960 Rambler I bought in 1972 for $175..6 banger 3-on-the-tree...drove it for 5 yrs  22mpg.. was "hot-rodding" (LOL) one night...tore out 1st/reverse gear. Drove it that way for 2 yrs(with no reverse and only 2nd and high)  Had to really plan ahead when parking.
sold it for $125

Hey Fred, if you shot those today those are really good groups :)  It's been so windy here I haven't bothered to even try anything. I hope it lets up by Thursday ,I want to take a few rifles to the range and try them out :D

yes it was pretty windy here too...didn't know how much wind would affect these at 60yds...maybe its a better shooter than I thought...

Yes they will shoot great.Here's a few groups from a couple of years ago with my 17M2 Sportster.25 and 50 yard groups.I think i'll do better now.Just haven't papered it in a couple of years.

Did you guys try the 17 grain hornady ammo,  I am getting quarter size groups at 100 with a 4-16 scope

I have yet to find any Eley stuff...  My best groups came form the CCI stuff but the Hornady shoots pretty good too..

.25c groups are not even close to how mine shoots them... a bad group at 100 would be a dime...  ::) ;)
