Woman suffocates while allegedly stealing clothes from donation box by ABC News WHAS11.com Posted on March 12, 2012 at 5:44 PM (ABC NEWS) -- A Staten Island woman who apparently climbed into a clothing drop box to steal clothes, suffocated and died Saturday.
Authorities say the box's metal door closed on her head and trapped her.
The victim has been identified as Melissa Mazzeo, 51.
Police say Mazzeo died with her head outside the box and her body still
inside.
Mazzeo lived just a few blocks from where she died.
