this is my first case of these thing and it has last about a week. had to go to the er one night when it went on for 3 hrs. the pain from them had me throwing up. all i can say is if you never had them better hope you never get them

My buddy had an attack while on a canoeing trip. From what I've ever heard I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

ive heard it is worse than haveing a baby. have yu tried dissolving them with hard liquor? must work ive never had one lol

I've had them three times. Each time I was home alone. I ended up lying in the bathroom floor rolling around and screaming. That was the kidney stone moving from th3e kidney to the bladder. I strained my bloody urine each time, nothing found. Finally the last time after a week I saw it on the edge of the strainer. It hurt, but nothing like the week before. It was about the size of a BB. Got a magnifying glass to see it better, looked like Sputnik, with little sharp spikes sticking out all over. After the last on4e I quite carbonated drinks, have not had any since. It's been about 8 years now since the last one, don't ever want another.

I've had kidney stones a number of times. Worst pain imaginable. Found out at the ER that they have a drug called torodal, it is injected, and targets the kidneys. Almost immediate relief.

Last one I had was 9mm diameter. Luckily it broke up on its own.

I know two women that have also had kidney stones, and they both have told me that kidney stones are far worse than childbirth.

I hope it passes soon for you.

Guy I worked with passed one at night. We were in a hotel in Wisconsin and my room was a long way from his and a floor below. Sounded like someone was trying to neuter a bigfoot. Patrons of the hotel had called 911 which meant to add to the humiliation he had to explain to a pair of cops what had taken place.

Now that you've reminded me I think I'll give him a call and see if he still remembers the good times.

I had them 4 times. Hospitol 2x many years ago. 1st time I had no idea what was happening and thought I was dying. Last time I bought some gravel root from a health food shop. Tastes like crap but it dissolved the stones. WARNING. Gravel root dissolves the stones but also if you have any plaque on the teeth it will dissolve it too, can be painful if the teeth are bad. Worst enemy is SUGAR in any form. Haven't had a prob since I quit using sugar. I feel for ya brother. POWDERMAN.

I feel for you I has a slight problem but looked at as a cake walk after learning of my twin grandsons having them. The boys are 14 years old, confined to a wheel chair since birth, neither one can speak or do anything for themselves as a result of MS. It was funny that both had them at the same time, they started crying, restless and were having all kinds of problems, it took the doctors about three weeks before they found the stones which as big as a quarter, one of the boys had two of them. They have to go in and break them up with a laser before they could pass them. Otherwise it would have required surgery. They are OK today, but knowing the pain and suffering they went through I won’t complain too much any more.

GB will probably give me the dickens for this, but I have an old medicine woman's cure that works for me.
Mix 1 shot glass of olive oil with 1 shot glass of fresh lemon juice. Stir to blend quickly as it won't stay mixed, and drink it right down without stopping, trying not to taste it.
Do this as soon as the pain starts, then again in an hour. It works for me.
Last time I had stones, Roxicet only gave temp relief for an hour. Major pain.
I wouldn't wish it on anybody. I think the lemon juice smooths the kidney stone enough to pass it.

One Doc told me Carbonated Drinks. Haven't had a carbonated drink since, it's been eight years and not a kidney stone since. The ones I had were about a year apart. Seems to have worked for me.

When my father had them, that was the only time I can remember him in tears. Hoping to be lucky and never get them.

Never had them, hope I never get them. Family doctor over 40 years ago, thought they might be caused by all the extra sugar in soda pop. Guess that's why I'll stick to water or beer.

I went through stones twice and I pray I never have another one. Worst pain I've ever had to deal with. The first one eventually passed but felt like someone was taking a Louisville slugger to the family jewels over and over. The 2nd one got hung up and they had to go in through my main drain and get it. Imagine running a bore snake through the ole Johnson. Doctor told me to cut out soft drinks. He said it can also come from being dehydrated from not drinking enough water. Haven't had a Coke since then and so far no more stones....knock on wood.

My doctor actually told me to drink a couple beers as it helps flush the works.
Lots of things can contribute to the stones. Lack of fluids, chocolate, rolaids, soda pop, too much lime in your drinking water, etc.
I run all my well water through my still. This eliminates the lime from the limestone layer that we have in this area. It removes all minute sediments before they get to your kidneys.

Actually, NO. Doc said that beer was actually good for the kidneys. I know a couple of guys who drink one every night cause their dr reccomended it. POWDERMAN.

I was helping 2 Brothers pull Corn on the Family Farm. The youngest one and I went to the Crib with a Pickup load. The Oldest was left pulling and piling in the rows, so we could pick it up when we got back. Well, when we got back, we couldn't find him and it looked like about an Acre of Standing Corn had been torn down. We found him in one of the Rows, passed out. We jerked him up and went to the ER with him. Come to find out, he had passed a Kidney Stone. I swore then I didn't want one and I'never had one. Thank God. I thought that boy was dead. He was sweating like a pig and was white as a Sheet I didn't know what I was going to tell his Momma, about what had happened to him. I was the Oldest one there and I was scared they were going to think I had run over him with the Truck.

If you have to go to the hospital or doctor's office for pain, toradol + phenagrin are supposed to help pretty good. Opiates don't do much. My X wife has them often and she also works in a lab so she has the opportunity to keep up with what works. ear

Had a bad one about 15 years ago.
A nurse that I worked with then ASSURED me that having a Kidney stone was worse than having a baby.
She had "delivered" several of each!

Now I tell the ladies that I KNOW what they've gone through.......................................never been believed yet.
But, hey, I was told by a reliable source......................

I am 40 years old and started getting kidney stones at 14 years of age. I have had hundreds of them. I have had surgery twice because they were too big to pass. Marble sized. I take hydrochlorothiezied (water pill) thats used to treat high blood pressure and it makes my stones A LOT smaller and a lot less often. I have had them tested and the only thing seems to be my body cant handle protein. I need to decrease it dramatically but the water pill worked so well that I havent changed my diet.
When you are having an attack, get in a HOT tub of water. Hot as you can stand and soak while drinking a beer. The alcohol and hot water lets your body relax and expand to HOPEFULLY pass the stone.

used too have kidney stones no more quit drinking tap water drink distilled water and no coke haven't had a problem in years.also drink cranberry juice instead of pop.
