Predict the price of gasoline in late Sept '12 thru Jan '13
« on: March 13, 2012, 03:54:49 AM »
I'm guessing it'll drop down to about $2.25 by election time, then will go back up to 3.50 ish, then close to 5.

Remember that gas prices were up to around 4 during the summer before the last presidential election, then mysteriously dropped to about 1.85 during the election season, and have been going up ever since.

I had this same conversation with my wife at the gas station the other day and we arrived at the exact same conclusion as you have.  After a week of lower gas prices the zombies will have forgotten about the last 3 and a half years and will be all primed up to vote in more "hope and change"

I'm not so sure.  The Obamunist has a certain set of beliefs and a captive audience who believe that the use of carbon based fuels is a gigantic sin against nature.  To do the things necessary to bring down the price of gasoline would mean that they would have to go against everything they have preached and then the question would surely be asked--why now?  Why did we have to pay the penalty (high fuel and everything else) for all this time and then just so the dipwad would have a better chance at reelection ....  I don't think that would sell.

I think they will try to blame the high prices on Bush, Wall Street and maybe even turmoil in the Middle East--while claiming they have done all the right things.  And then follow that up with advice on inflating your tires and getting a tune-up.

I believe the national average for a gallon will march to $4.50 (currently $3.80 climbing .30 in the past month) through the RNC, then dip to low $2s leading to the election. Then regardless of which Party wins, it'll skyrocket over $5 by Christmas.

No  doubt   Barrack   will   take   full   credit   for   the   decrease.   And  we   still   have   4   more  years  of    being   caught  between   a    barock   and   a  hard   place.
