Some find it bad to clone , to each his own.......... I would say it depends on their needs . When we clone it will lead to how far we can go. The concept of cloning is not trying to be God it is the quest for knowledge. If you believe in God and the Bible you should go back to Adam and Eve , we are where we are ( out of the garden) due to a quest for knowledge . Had we stayed in the garden there would be no need to quest for knowledge as all was provided by God now we must learn . Those who feel it wrong or in opposition with God should post where it says we should not seek better lives including medical improvements. Being diabetic I support cloning as my doctor has told me research is to the point that cells from my body will soon be able to be cloned and replaced in my body to cure me of diabetes that's good . Consider the parents of a child born with a defect that can be repaired with cloning . IMHO anyone who is in favor of condemning others to live with handicaps when cloning could repair it are just selfish and  lack compassion for others .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

I can see benefits to cloning and I would not hazard a guess as to what Gods opinion on it might be. Personally, for me, I would have a problem with humans being cloned for body parts like used cars. Killing the clone for its heart or whatever the case might be would be too much like killing a human for me to be able to do that. I'd love to see a wooly mammoth, a sabre toothed tiger, etc. Cloning is definitely an interesting subject. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D

I agree with that , as for body parts - like I noted it would come from the patient to be used back in the patient . Wonder if someone who would have been a doner could supply the cells and not lose an organ ?

I also wonder if cloning could be done in conjuction with stem cells, perhaps making it possible to use material from a doner, but avoiding the problems with tissue rejection?

they are now able to take one cell, wave their magic wand over it and inject back into the patient.
if I had the loot, I could have it done to my heart and restore the dead tissue.
it's VERY expensive and I don't think insurance will ever cover it.

It's funny this should come up in the news while this thread was going on. I thought you guys might find it interesting that they are cloning goats. Dale

Hope one never gets to the US.  US Fish and Wildlife would make it endangered and free ranging when no fences would hold it.  Just think what your car would look like when it got stepped on, or your house when it got ran through.

US Fish and Wildlife are giving us fits when we try and reintroduce a species that was killed off 100 years ago by man.  The species survived in Canada, and the Canadians have given us a small herd for restarting the herd here in Alaska.  Now the US Fish and Wildlife service has decided that once we turn them loose they are taking the herd over and making the rules.  Where ever we turn them loose the area will be placed off limits for any other use.  The fact the land is Federal or State owned does not matter.  Hunting will never be allowed, no matter what the numbers.

I  couldnt   prove   or   disprove   cloneing    ,   Ive  seen   news   video  on   dolly   the  sheep   but   who   can   say   a  ram    didnt   jump  the   fence.  Im   skeptical   it   can  be   done.  Especially  on   million   year old  mammoth   bones.

Mammoth bones are not a million years old.  Tens of thousands at most.  I have one in my gun room and it is still fresh looking, not even petrified.

I am skeptical about goats being cloned in India, every person in India with any medical experience is here in the USA.
