Must they be limited to Choice (A) or Choice (B)? My experiences and travels have made my view of humanity and the world more broad than the "Core Values" of just two inherently corrupt political parties.

No need to limit them.  My core beliefs did NOT come from any political party.  They were a result of a number of things, including how I was raised, my own conscience, books that I have read, interacting with others, etc.  I began developing my core beliefs long before I was old enough to vote.  So, if I find the above statement to be condescending or pandering, I trust you will understand why.  I have yet to find any political party that fully matches my core beliefs.  I can state though that Carter does not come near matching them.

I owe you an apology. I read between lines that were not there and I perceived your question with ruffled feathers. It is a continual endeavor for me to refrain from judgement and condesension and in this case I failed to rise above. I'm over here "preaching" and yet I fall back to my own imperfection under fire.

I was fortunate enough to have been endowed with strong core values by many people who have influenced me in my life, though none of them have been politicians. In my younger years I thought I knew everything about right and wrong; who the good guys and bad guys were; and whose "god" was the true one.

By the time I left the service my entire "world", my reality had changed. The globe was now a much smaller place to me. People, inspite of the borders and differences in beliefs and language etc. were all, on a basic level, so very similar everywhere, at least to me anyway.

I know this much; no matter where you are in the world, when a child is killed needlessly because of the inability of grown men to strive for a better path within themselves, there will always be someone shedding tears of agony.

It is not my intention to raise Mr. Carter to Sainthood, but only to suggest that while core values, that do come into play as you stated about Mr. Carter, give us foundation, one must remember that they tend to become out of focus as they transition from the free thinking individual to the group mentality.

I apologize once again for my lack of tact and thank you for the presence of yours.

If you check the news, members of the Muslim brotherhood, want to send Isreals ambassador back and NOT reckognise Isreal.  They also want to establish Shira law in Egypt.  Hmmm.  Carter is naive.  I commend him on all his good works, like Habitat, but he thinks if he just talks to people, they can be trusted.  Definately not a student of history.  Hitler and Chamberland.  Check to see what is actually going on behind the seens, what they have said before, what they have written in their books or papers.  No one really vetted Obama.  He is "fundimentally changing America" into a socialist state with a stronger than needed presidency and federal government.  Just wait a couple of years and we who see the world from a "Christian World View" will be able to say, I told you so.
So this ALL started with him and it only took less than four years to do it? But before that everything was just "jake" hah? I don't know. Just saying. You are right though about checking up. But it seems to me that these days political office is just a huge global puppet show and one has to wonder just what rich corporate suit has there hand up the aft end of star players.

Before everyone here starts beating up Carter, who on this board has had more direct interaction with Muslim leadership than Carter has? Like him or not he is intelligent and has probably learned a thing or two since the 70s.
GuzziJohn

you wouldn't know it from some of his interviews ...........

Many could say the same of Dan Quayle or George JR.

    Finisher;
For a guy who is neither Republican, Democrat, left, right, liberal or conservative...you sure were quick to defend Jimmie, even to the point of trying to trash Bush & Quayle.
Hey, what can I say? Clinton was an idiot too, he ripped my Navy, the one Reagan built into the strongest navy since the British Empire, to shreds, not to mention getting caught with his pants down. And Al Gore had the personality of a bowl of turnips. Fair enough?

This new guy, (finisher) comes on the forum and expresses his views on the topic and as usual there are a couple waiting to personally attack them. Not going to happen! Don't waste your time typing out attack messages. They will just be deleted............BG
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

As I said in some of my posts in this thread ..which you have deleted; I did not attack the person.  Just as you said above, I countered some of the IDEAS he put  forth. I thought that is what this forum was about, an exchange of ideas..pro & con.

I will certainly not claim to always write with tact, and like others, I sometimes take offense where none was intended.  Clearly, we do not agree regarding Carter, but there's no need that we do so.  Your above statement is clear and well thought out, and assuming that it is sincere, I humbly accept and thank you.

OK..this shows just how some can be taken in by TV publicity..

I work with a Christian ministry which actually helps people..  This ministry has been given referrals from Jimmie's gang.  When asked why they wouldn't help, they were told that "they don't work outside the city".
Well DUH; not all poor people are in the cities !  The ministry I am working with, checks to see that those they help, need help..and are not professional "I need help" people.  We especially help those who do not normally seek help, but are still in REAL need.  The founder/director does not collect a penny for his 30-50 hours per week (in addition to his truck driving job).  Nobody in the organization gets any pay..not even a "stipend".. all goes to help the needy.
How many hours do you suppose Jimmy spends laboring after the the TV cameras have left ?  I cannot speak for Jimmie, but we have worked along with those big TV 'home redoing' shows..and precious little time is spent at work by the celebrities..once the cameras have left.
Still, it was a great "teaching moment" for the youths on the job...who did not yet understand "Hollywood'.  ;)   :D

the people with the TV cameras don't like to venture out of their natural habitat.
yeah, jimmie smiles at the camera, gives an interview, then changes out of his overalls (props) and leaves the area.

Have to agree with Bugeye on the publicity thing. No different than the Hollywood celebrity's on Thanksgiving or the day before Christmas. Show up for a couple hours, put on a hat/apron, serve a few meals, smile for the camera and leave. gypsyman

Jimmy Carter in my opinion was the worst president in history. Virtually everything he did ended in failure. Our country was a laughing stock. I also believe we can thank him and his policies for the rise of radical Islam with his handling of the whole Shah/Komanie deal in Iran that led to the hostage crisis there. Gas prices then shot through the roof because of this. Unemployment was sky high. The prime lending rate went over 20%. So good old Jimmy trusts the Muslim Brotherhood. Not surprising at all considering he probably never met an anti Semite he didn't like. He also gave away the Panama Canal. He was the first ex President that I can remember that publicly bad mouthed a standing President in office. He has constantly bad mouthed the U.S. while abroad. He's sure one to talk. The sad thing is B.O. and his people feel the same way about these terrorists.
