Kudos to Ruger for great service
« on: March 15, 2012, 11:49:20 AM »
I recently sent to Ruger for repair a GP100 that was 23 years old (according to the SN) and that I had purchased used some years back. The last time I was cleaning it, I took the trigger group out (as I have done many times) and the cylinder latch came off. In an attempt to get it back in, I for some unknown reason decided to pull the trigger and the transfer bar came loose. At this point I cut my losses and sent the revolver to Ruger with a note about what was wrong and how it happened.  About a week later, I get the repaired revolver back at no charge in a sturdy Ruger box and with an owner's manual. That was indeed great service.

Some years back I sent in an old Security Six that the cylinder wouldn't lock up. About a month later I got it back not only with the cylinder replaced but also a new bluing job and new sights. It was like it was brand new again. I only paid for shipping one way. Yep, top notch folks at Ruger.

Three gun companies I've had this sort of service from-Ruger, Smith Wesson and Kel-tec.
