30 Herrett question

I have started reloading for 30 Herret and have a question about the COL of this cartridge.  It seems that with the published data, the bullet is seated pretty far into the case.  I was wondering what lengths some of you are getting with the Nosler 125 BT.  Thanks.

Try using your barrel as a seating depth guage. With it off the frame, insert a loaded round seated long. It is easy to find the max cartridge length this way and work from there.

Ditto to Slim Chance.  I load the same bullet.  Don't have the numbers handy, but you're better off not knowing anyway.  Let your barrel decide them for you.  Mine are loaded longer than published.  GOOD SHOOTIN',  Walt   :D   :D

I have a 30 Herret and my C.O.L. is 2.320 with a 125 gr BT and the case length is 1.605    The best powder I've found so far with this bullet is H4227.
