A few years ago I got a parts gun from a local shop. ejector rod , housing , spring amd screw were missing. Main spring missing and some other small stuff. It looked like it was draged behind a truck. It cleaned up with Kroil . got the parts missing and replaced them . It ain't pretty but it shoots . I found a 9mm cyl. at a gun show and had it fitted  it shoots but not a tack driver . It been fun . Now swampman comes along now I'm thinking reblue  ::)

Ruger will refinish for $130.00 plus $30.00 return shipping.  A dealer can ship it to them much cheaper than you can.

I do plumbing and HVAC work , I can have bluing tanks made for Gun smiths and I just had three made so I hope the Smith will return the favor as he is teaching some repair and machine operations as a hobby. But if it dosen't work out I will take your advice as it seems very reasonable and I would expect a good job as the factory should not want bad work out for people to see.
