44 mag load help

Hello I have some 245 gr. swc bullets and havine\g trouble finding a load for that bullet I can fing them for 240 & 250 can anybody help? thanks

Use either data as you should be working up the load.........If you are looking for a load  without working up the load try the starting load for either.  That will be safer than just picking a top load.

You should be able to safely used eather bullets starting data. If these are for plinking velocity really doesn`t matter much, so just find something that is accurate. I like Bullseye powder for plinking loads with cast bullets. In 38 SP loads I havd ran the powder charge from 2 gr. up to 3.2 gr. with a 158 gr. cast bullets. In fact I loaded some of each of these loads for a friend that shot compation. He would shoot the 2gr. loads when he was up close and the 3.2 gr. for the longer shots. I usually loaded 6 gr. of Bullseye powder behind a 240 gr. SWC in my 44 mag. and that same load would work in your 45. That load is stiffer than most of the cast bullet loads because we used to shoot a tin cans from 60 to 80 yrds. with them and wanted a little flatter shooting round than is needed for 25 yrd. shooting.

9.0 grains of Unique will give you a fun load that will still thump something if you need it to. Approx 950 fps.

Lyman 48th has 245gr. cast loads,let me know what powder you are useing and I'll give ya the data.

unique start 9.8gr (912fps) max 13gr. (1147fps) tested out of a 4" barrel
bullseye no data
