NATIONAL DEFENSE RESOURCES PREPAREDNESS
 
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the Defense Production Act of 1950, as amended (50 U.S.C. App. 2061 et seq.), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code, and as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Nothing new there.  Same law that's been on the books since Truman.  As I said, nothing to get excited about.

  Those sneaky liberal spinners at Snopes are sure phony...  Folks are concerned with Obama signing the NDAA (national defense authorization act)....and Snopes switches the subject to something called NDRP (national defense resource preparedness)...pretty sneaky..          Here's the story..

OBW them 2 links were worthless as they didn't have the Defense Production Act of 1950 EO.That is such a far cry from the 1950 one.
 
The Act has been periodically reauthorized and amended, and remains in force as of 2012. IE the president can add what he wants to it.

Martial Law by Executive Order

President Obama's National Defense Resources Preparedness Executive Order of March 16 does to the country as a whole what the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act did to the Constitution in particular -- completely eviscerates any due process or judicial oversight for any action by the Government deemed in the interest of "national security." Like the NDAA, the new Executive Order puts the government completely above the law, which, in a democracy, is never supposed to happen. The United States is essentially now under martial law without the exigencies of a national emergency.

Senators terrified with abuse of Patriot Act’s secret laws


Horrified with the way the US government uses the Patriot Act against its own people, two senators have been trying to make these practices public for years. Tired of being ignored, they're now taking their fight against secret programs to public.
Two US senators wrote the attorney general of the United States this week, urging the federal government to give the American public evidence explaining how the Patriot Act has been interpreted since signed into law in 2001.
In a joint letter to Attorney General Eric Holder sent Thursday, Senators Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) and Mark Udall (D-Colorado) plead with the government to provide the American people with the facts behind what the Patriot Act can let America’s top investigators do. The lawmakers, who have rallied for disclosure of these details for more than two years, say citizens would be “stunned” to learn what the government believes it can get away with under the law.

I don't really get into the politic discussions, as there are so many people with side blinders on and are so naive. Only hear on the news or read on the net.
 
So many don't even know of the 3rd Party running this year for President in 2012 because the media won't talk about it so many don't know. They have close to $75+ million dollars and seems to be growing very quickly for the 2012 election.
