Things progressed after his death . The Scout rifle is a concept evolves and that each end used sets up to fill their need. It is a term much like assult rifle it is an idea that has changed over time to include many weapon systems .Jeff Cooper was forward thinking and I would assume any advances in his original concept that improved the use of the Scout rifle would meet his approval. As example there are rifles being built today that are made from lighter materials that were not widely aval. in Coopers day . If someone could afford to build a rifle out of such weight saving material and it came in under the 6.6 lbs according to you it would not be a Scout rifle but any one who has toted a rifle would be glad to have the weight saving in a carry 24/7 rifle .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !
