I have no information to go along with this video but do you think it would be possible to survive this crash? Dale

Video doesn't work for me, Dale. But I have seen people walk away from impossible crashes and others killed in relatively minor ones.

From the look of the impact from the 18 wheeler center punching that little plastic car and seeing all the parts flying the way they did, I would say nobody in the car made it.

A clip went around a couple of years ago where they collided a new car with a '59 Impala. The '59 was creamed, the new car remained basically intact.  When parts enter the passenger area all bets are off.

I have to agree with Gun Runner on this one. Very doubtful anyone in the car lived through that.

It makes you value life. One second your here just driving down the road listening to the radio and the next second your gone, Very sad. Dale

Seen this one not to long ago. Don't know how anyone could have survived. But, as pastorp said, everyone has their time. gypsyman

It makes a very good case for separation of freeway traffic lanes with barriers, or distance.

If I could wave a magic wand, I would have separate highways for trucks.  On the other hand, it would be even better if people would just slow the heck down under adverse conditions.

Possible I guess but not very likely.

I'm thinking that the only way anyone in the SUV survived that wreck is if the impact ejected them from the vehicle.

The trouble with this sort of thiing is that it is quickly becoming a form of entertainment. There are plenty of sites on the web dedicated to gore and horrible accidents and war dead, etc. It reminds me of something from one of the old "Back to the future" movies, where they refer to "The Atrocity Channel" as a television entertainment channel dedicated to the mass deaths of people. Of course, television doesn't have nearly the influence it did then, and the internet as we know it did not exist, but it was a good prediction of what has become real today.

No way any one couled have survived that one.  I watched it five times, and that semi hit the entire passenger compartment.  The entire passenger compartment was ripped apart.  At first I thought the driver area might have survived, but on re-watching I realized the Semi swerved to his right and took out that area as well.  My feeling is no one survived.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

That brings back some bad memories , 30 years ago I was following two cars on 44 going into Va. Beach . Its flat land the only hills are over passes. We were doing about 60. As the two cars crested the hill two idoits (drunk) were drag racing comming the wrong way . 44 is like an interstate limited access etc. The 4 cars hit head on . The windshield from one of the idoits car broke on the front of my truck. It happened so fast I never got my foot on the brake. A hole opened in front of me I went thru and it closed with other cars piling on. It looked like slow moition . I saw a girls head go thru a windshield . Also saw one of the idoits car go across the median , hit a colvert and keep going . I think it was his windshield that hit my truck. He got away. 6 people were killed if I remember. So I would say no no one lived in the accident shown but can also say I saw almost as bad and some did
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

I remember seeing some video of a SmartCar in a staged relatively low-speed collision with a sedan, like a Camry. Speed may have been 25 or 30mph. The SmartCar looked like a toy. It became airborne, fell to the ground, and spun like a top. The sedan just stopped, and the crumple zone appears to have done it's job in protecting the cockpit. I think those videos are on youtube. Some SmartCar collision videos are more flattering, but this one was a good example of the "mass always wins" argument.

Yea Rodger that slushy snow build up will get you. I have had it get me more than once just changing lanes. One time I was headed hom from work and it was snowing pretty good. I had good winter tires on my truck and is probably the only reason I did not put it in the ditch. Anyways I was on my way home and changed lanes to to right lane in doing so I drove through that build up. My truck went to fish tailing back and forth across the road. The whole ordeal did not last more than 4 or 5 seconds before I got it back under control but it seem like slow motion and felt like a couple minutes. I was going faster than I should have been in the first place maybe 60mph at the time. It sure scared the crap out of me and I slowed down to about 35mph after that. There was another time about 16 years ago when I was headed to the store and it was snowing real bad and the roads were also very bad. I made a mistake by tapping my brakes to see just how slick the road was. That was it I did a 360 degree circle in the middle of the road. I managed to get the car back under control without taking any fence out that was on both sides of the road. Both times I was going to fast and about crapped my pants but managed to regain control.
