I've noticed that some prices are going much higher lately on the 1911's soon they won't be so affordable. Its driving me more towards the used guns.
What do you look for in a used 1911?
1. I check the frame to slide fit
2. Barrel bushing in the slide and barrel
3. Rack the slide to see if it locks open, last round fired,
4. I remove the mag and test the safety lever and hand grip safety then dry fire it.
5. Look at the barrel throat and feed ramp for any work being done on it. Make sure its not been butchered.
6. Check for loose sights on the slide.
Did i miss anything??? I need to refresh my memory and keep this plan in mind when i go browsing.
