Today my daughter-in-law took our 16 month old grand daughter to the clinic for her regular scheduled checkup.  Same as every other time with one exception. I have not as of yet. My friend is thinking over a letter to them. It has him spooked out for sure! If he does not I will.

Thanks for the reply,

My daughter had much the same question asked of her.  She replied, "that ma'am is none of anyone's business but mine".

Here is a similar story from 2010:

Sounds like the doctor could be biased against guns, but he could also just be well meaning but unaware that such questions could put many folks on the defensive.

...........upon looking further I see that there has been at least one study along these lines.  Their conclusion is that councilling on safe gun storage may help, though the findings are not statistically large enough to prove a diffence in practices.  Additionally any impact on gun related accidents in the home was unclear at best.

Basically sounds like a few doctors got wind of the studies and decided to take it upon themselves to do something that "seemed reasonable" to them, but had not proven to be effective.  Not the kind of doctor I would want making even my health decisions, much less my life decisions.

Uh, was she saying that the clinic had the right to suspend a permit, or that they would quit providing treatment? I'm not real clear on that :-\

Cuts, it sounds to me in that case like an "anti" was embellishing upon the studies or clinic procedure in order to achieve greater affect (fear) towards her victims.  It wouldn't be the first time!  ::)

This statement reaffirms the 1992 position of the American Academy of Pediatrics that the absence of guns from children's homes and communities is the most reliable and effective measure to prevent firearm-related injuries in children and adolescents. A number of specific measures are supported to reduce the destructive effects of guns in the lives of children and adolescents, including the regulation of the manufacture, sale, purchase, ownership, and use of firearms; a ban on handguns and semiautomatic assault weapons; and expanded regulations of handguns for civilian use. In addition, this statement reviews recent data, trends, prevention, and intervention strategies of the past 5 years.
