When PhD's decide to become artillery experts...

This is about critical reading, or being critical and paying attention to what you read.  Try this article on for size and see how many dozen errors you can pick up.  I was somewhat amazed that any PhD would sign his name to this article.  Good luck with the navigation, too, it was somewhat frustrating for me, but about five minutes of trial-and-error got it at least to where I could finish reading the article.

One of the statements he makes is that using a heavier cannonball increases the muzzle velocity, which doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

He should of said increased muzzle energy.
