2 1/2" or 3" shells
« on: January 26, 2004, 05:11:31 PM »
I just got my first 45LC/410 bbl and was wondering, does the 410 take 2 1/2" or 3" shells? (or both) Thanks - Eddie

And how about the 12 guage turkey barrel . . . . . .

What are the maximum length shot shells this barrel will take?  And if you don't mind, what is you favorite turkey load for this rig on an Encore?

Thanks!

I believe the normal .45/.410 factory barrels have a 3" chamber, so they will accept both 2 1/2" and 3" shells.

Mine shoots the 3" best.  The best shot for me has been 7 1/2.  Bigger shot gives weird pattern.  Have shot many grouse with this rig

Not to step all over the 410 topic but what length shells does the 12 guage barrel accept?  Is it 3 inch max or will it go more?

Thanks!  I will get my turkey barrel out of layaway in February and start setting up for April turkey season in Oklahoma.
