I guess it would be an assumption to say that nancy would "be flattered" to have a traitor portray her. I can't imagine any real American being overjoyed by being simulated by a treasonous reprobate.

Don't know...you'll have to ask Nancy....most actors have strong egoes and like flattery There's no ego THAT strong !....but didn't Fonda win awardsYep! .. From others just like her...I don't think I ever saw Nancy in any movies...She was in many movies, mostly patriotic, during WW2 ..Actually you might want to petition Obama to take Fonda out, since he and future presidents have given themselves that power.Petition won't help, he doesn't listen to the people..esp if she and your grudge bugs you that much.... Not my grudge, but her treachery and she single handly caused the loss of the Vietnam war Not singlehandedly, but Gen Giap said in his memoirs that she and her ilk sure helped. Maybe some Nuremburg War Tribunal can be invoked on her; Not likely, too many cowardly politicians.. John kerrey is still running around loose also but words of advice--dredging up Nuremburg principles might just start a firestorm given America's current actions in wars and causes of wars..Sure enough, it may re-ignite memories of how the Muslims formed Nazi SS brigades..

Other than her anti-American stands do any of you realy know why we Vietnam Vets have such a hatred for her? Well let me tell you. During a visit to North Vietnam, where she was wined and dined by the North Vietnamise, she was given a tour of a prisoner of war camp. Of course the American prisoners had been given extra rations, showers, medical treatment and clean clothes just for the sake of being groomed for her visit. After all the true condition of prisoners would not look good for the cameras and on American TV. The prisoners made the mistake of trusting what they thought was a fellow American and passed her messages they hoped she'd turn over to those they were intended for. Messages telling the truth of their treatment. Messages to family members to let them know they were still alive. Messages of desperation and a glimmer of hope. Yeah, Jane took the messages slipped to her in confidince and she turned them over alright, but not to whom they were intended. She promptly gave them to the North Vietnamise comander of the prison camp! As a result the prisoners were tortured, beaten, and starved even more than usual. More than a few were killed outright or died from the treatment brought on by her treatury! I personaly know three vets who were there and have no doubt it happened as their stories match perfectly. I wouldn't spit on Jane Fonda if she was on fire! In fact I'd be inclined to toss gasoline on her! Her Playing Nancy Reagan is an insult, not just to Nancy, but to all US Veterans of all wars and all Americans in general! Why not get Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to play George Washington?

I notice you say " Were supposedly involved". I don't base my opinion on what I've "read" I base it on personal conversations with POW's who were there and have proven so with diaries, photo's, and military records. With Fonda's background it's not hard for her family to get some to claim otherwise. Money can buy most anything!

I'd be curious to know... what is the nature of your brother's firsthand knowledge of Jane Fonda's actions in VN? Was he there? Was he a prisoner? Do tell.

Perhaps someone can supply the names of the men who gave written notes to Jane Fonda, which she turn allegedly turned over the their captors? I too have heard the stories about the notes from prisoners and since I was not there I can not comment on the truth or falsehood of said stories but I can comment on the AA Photo and that is enough for me.
She was/is a traitor and guilty of fraternising with the enemy!!!

Nancy Reagan was in many films both under that name and under Nancy Davis, her name before she married Ronald Reagan.

Traitor? Here I was, thinking that John Kerry was a naval officer who saw combat while commanding a Swift Boat. You know.. the same officer that was awarded the Bronze Star, the Silver Star, and three Purple Hearts?

Don't know the number to that one, but I'm confident of this: not nearly as many Americans & Vietnamese as were killed because of Johnson's decision to escalate the war, based on an 'attack' (which never took place) on Turner Joy & Maddox.

Might have been, though he was probably addressed as captain or skipper - but do you have hard evidence to indicate this? I'd be interested to hear it, esp. from men who served on his boat with him under fire. Perhaps something other than the silver star, bronze star, and 3 purple hearts?

Like where & when he was in country.
IIRC he was proven to have not been in country when he said he was.

I never said one way or the other if it was legal for her to go.
I could care less if it was legal or if she took her old man with her.
The fact is she went and was fraternising with the enemy!!!
There were plenty of others that was part of the peace movement at the time but they didn't go over and play buddy buddy with the enemy.
I lost several good friends over there and my brother came home with a nice knife scar to the gut from his encounters while there.
He didn't get a medal for it nor did he want one.
He came back an alcoholic but at least he came home and in one piece.
He was just doing his time like so many others.

If I may, I have a few questions for you and maybe yellowtail3 also.
Did either of you serve your country?
If so, I thank you for doing your duty.
If not, I have no problem with that either.
Lots of people didn't have to go and I was one of them.
Missed my senior trip by just over a month when they did away with the draft.
God knows I didn't want to go but would have and was about to.
The last question I have for you is why do you defend her?
She may have had the right to go and had good intentions but it sure was a stupid way of showing it.
If she would have stayed home and protested the way that most everyone else did I probably wouldn't hold any ill feelings toward her but to go and chum it up with them and even be shown laughing with them sure sent a very strong message (to me anyway) that she really didn't care about what happened to our boys!
I am not sorry for the way I feel toward her.

That's interesting really , if she repsented the govt. then she did a poor job. If she did not then why was she there ? spy ? or subvert Americas position ? she did that well. If I remember even our planes and troops had to get permission from command at the WH to enter NV. Lots of politics there.

'evidence' I had was a Soldier charged with murder by his own gov't (I admit that I took US Army's word on this). Pretty self-evident
