 Bobby Rush’s hoodie gets him tossed from House floor (VIDEO)    By Dylan Stableford Senior Media Reporter

   Illinois Rep. Bobby Rush, a Democratic Congressman, was ordered to leave the House chamber on Wednesday because he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt in honor of Trayvon Martin.

Rush began a speech wearing a suit jacket, removing it to reveal a hoodie underneath. "Racial profiling has to stop," Rush said. "Just because someone wears a hoodie, [it] does not make them a hoodlum."
It's against House rules to wear headgear in the chamber.

Bad for wearing a head covering which is against the house rules. Good for emphasizing the problem of racial profiling and if you think it does not happen, please crawl back into your cave.

It is stupid regardless of where it comes from. I don't like rap music and think low hanging pants with underwear showing looks stupid, but each to their own.

First of all, if it were racial profiling, then what does a hoodie have to do with it?
Second, from what I read, Zimmerman's suspicians may have been very well grounded.  The kid was a dope smoker and apparently a thug.  Unless of course you want to ignore him breaking the guy's nose and then reportedly trying to bash his head into the concrete.

In 2003 I bought a gray hoodie at disney world that says grumpy on it.  I think that's a dwarf or something.   Zimmerman might have mentioned a hoodie, but if I were on the phone with the cops about someone, I'd tell'em what the perp was wearing.

All these tears over racial profiling is just mamby pamby liberals wanting something to whine about.
In my younger days I rode a bike and had the beard and hair half way down my back.
I worked construction plus worked out with weights.
So what do you think people thought when they seen me pull into the mini mart?
I'll tell you what they thought---They thought EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED THEM TO THINK !

YEP. Shouldn't be many reasons to wear winter hooded sweatshirts in FLA. It's a cult thing I reckon. Makes as much sense as wearing a winter toboggan hat in the summer, but they do it. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

It's also a youth thing......Back in the 50's and early 60's we wore our hair in greasy duck tail style , wore black motorcycle jackets with the collars turned up in back and the black buckle leather boots.
We were cool! At least that's what we thought. Our Dad's thought differently. I did get to wear the Black leather boots when Uncle Sam called, but the hair and leather jacket had to go!

Racial profiling comes from stereotyping. Stereotyping does not create itself out of thin air. It has it's basis in fact. Dress like a thug, talk like a thug, act like a thug and folks will assume you're a thug! It's just a damn shame that so many young people today conmpletely embrace this "gangsta" culture.

I agree with Duke that sterotyping is based in fact.  Dress talk and act like a thug and folks assume your a thug.  Think, Talk and institute a government run healthcare system and folks will assume your Barak Obama... or is it Mitt Romney... Same difference  ;)
