ProSport vs TX200MkIII
« on: January 27, 2004, 06:43:08 AM »
Can anyone who has shot both or owned both briefly compare these 2 rifles regarding ease of use, accuracy, and durability over months of shooting?  Why are there so many more TX's on the FT circuit then ProSports?

Thanks in advance,
Jim

I have one TX-200 .177, two TX-200HC .22 and .177, and a Pro Sport .22.  ALL great guns.

"Can anyone who has shot both or owned both briefly compare these 2 rifles regarding ease of use"

The TX-200 is an easier gun to use. Its' cocking arm is more sturdy and up to thousands of cockings.  The Pro Sports' lever is a little more flimsy less comfortable to cock.

All equally accurate.  I like the TX-200 HC version best.  It's a little handier but you do give up the baffled barrel.

"Why are there so many more TX's on the FT circuit then ProSports?"

One BIG reason is money.  Consider a Pro Sport is $100.00 more to begin with.  No more accurate.  Firing behavior is the same.  The Pro Sports claim to fame is asthetics, that's about it.  A TX-200 is very easy to take down also.

Here are a couple of pics of mine.....
