I use Superlube, some use a dry lube, but any lube that will stay in place is better than no lube at all which is likely the biggest reason why you find old H&R shotguns with loose fitting barrels.  :-X

Royal Purple Maxi Lube, Assembly Lube, or their chain lube works real nice on hinge pins.  I use assembly lube; put a dab on the pivot pin and the barrel pivot with a q-tip and it's snake snot slick.  Royal Purple is slick stuff.

Newby claims ignorance.  Is "hinge pin" another name for the "joint pin finish' in the owners manual?  Or is it the stop pin?

YRU -

According to H&R's parts diagram, it is called the "joint pin finish" (parts #16), aka "pivot pin".

Any 'molygrease' is great (a little dab'll do ya), but any lube is better than no lube.

Superlube mixed with about 25% moly powder.  Makes a great trigger lube also.
