"I saw George. He was banged up. His head had two big bandages, that weren't flat, had a bump on them," the neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said.

Wait a minute powderman, evidence like that doesnt fit the agenda of Zimmerman being a cold blooded racist killer like the media and Al and Jesse claim.  These folks couldnt possibly be wrong like they were in the Duke Lacrosse rape debacle, could they?

We can all speculate as to how it went down but this has been investigated now for 43 days and the fact that Zimmerman hasn't been arrested seems to indicate they haven't found grounds for arrest. On the other hand, there are clear and indisputable grounds to arrest the Black Panthers who put a price on Zimmerman's head but that hasn't happened either.

Wasn't there a guy a few years ago that was condemned by one of the big news companies. It turned out he was completely innocent, and he successfully sued the news company for milliions. It made sense for him to sue because his reputation was totally trashed and it would have prevented him from finding work.

This looks like it could be a similar case. Wouldn't surprise me if CBS/NBC are preparing a "settle out of court" deal that's very favorable to Zimmerman.

I believe you are referring to Richard Jewell, the security guard that found the bomb at the Atlanta Olympics.....yeah the newsmedia,  both broadcast and print, tried to paint him as sort of a lone, disgruntled Unibomber, saying he planted the bomb, just so he could find it and become a hero.       He was given an apology in 2005 by the Mayor of Atlanta, and he got settlements from NBC, CNN, NY Post, Piedmont College.    He had suit against the Atlanta Journal/Constitution but the case finally was dismissed in 2007 after Jewell died.    Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia:

Early news reports lauded Jewell as a hero for helping to evacuate the area after he spotted the suspicious package. Three days later, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution revealed that the FBI was treating him as a possible suspect, based largely on a "lone bomber" criminal profile. For the next several weeks, the news media focused aggressively on him as the presumed culprit, labeling him with the ambiguous term "person of interest", sifting through his life to match a leaked "lone bomber" profile that the FBI had used. The media, to varying degrees, portrayed Jewell as a failed law enforcement officer who may have planted the bomb so he could find it and be a hero.[5]
Two of the bombing victims filed lawsuits against Jewell on the basis of this reporting. In a reference to the Unabomber, Jay Leno called him the "Una-doofus".[6] Other references include "Una-Bubba," [7] and (of his mother) "Una-Mama." Jewell was never officially charged, but the FBI searched his home, questioned his associates, investigated his background, and maintained twenty-four hour surveillance of him. The pressure only began to ease after Jewell's attorneys hired an ex-FBI agent to administer a polygraph which Jewell reportedly passed.[5]
In October 1996, the investigating US Attorney, Kent Alexander, in an extremely unusual act, sent Jewell a letter formally clearing him, stating "based on the evidence developed to date ... Richard Jewell is not considered a target of the federal criminal investigation into the bombing on July 27, 1996, at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta".[8]

We have seen these media swirls before, and rather that weigh in now, I would caution you to give Zimmerman a fair hearing. The situation is very fluid.

Martin's family is enduring a terrible tragedy and I do not want to judge how they are dealing with their loss.

As distasteful as it is to think about what he is going through, I am now thinking Zimmerman should be put on trial, where he will get a full and reasonable airing of the facts - something that may otherwise allude him...........in the end the truth will set him free!!!!!
