My dogo was caught on it almost by himself for close to 30 mins before we found him through the brush. Had two caught at one time, and did not know it. Finally found him when the guy I was hunting with strike dog started baying with him.

Wonder what goes through the dog's head in regard to motivation to strike out in the dark of night to run down, corner, fight with, and subdue a mean old boar hog?  It can't be entirely for the praise that you bestow on the dog - can it?  How do you stick 'em to keep the dog from getting (any more) hurt?

It is bred into the dogs to want to hunt. They do it on their own. We just give them guidance as to what we want them to catch. We stick them with a knife behind the shoulder low and have dry kills. If you look closely you can see the dogs vest on him for protection. I will respond more later from a computer and not my phone.
