I'd like to see Ruger come out with an exact copy of Elmer Keith's #5  revolver ( I think I'm saying this right?) in .44 special; .44 mag; .45 colt; .357

I handled a Star Compact 45 in stainless steel and it was not small but was not light.
I think it seemed heavier than a standard 1911.

With the huge lottery the other night, taking a walk with a cigar and thinking what I would do with my winnings, I know the lottery is a tax on stupid people and that I have almost no chance of winning, but the $5 is woth the metal masterbation.
So I hit the gun part of my what would I get.
And I came to a part of what would I have made.
I was thinking of a new batch of Mauser 96 in current calibers.  As well as some of the classic calibers.
Was thinking of a batch of Ruger Bisley's
Or possibly having a batch of Webly Fosbery auto revolvers in calibers like 44 Special, 45 Colt, 38 Special.
What would you have made or brought back?

Parker shotguns
Colt pythons
XP-100's
Model 21's
Browning o/u high grades

If ya can see it ya can hit it !

I'll play!  ;D

I'd call the Ruger folk to fire up a forging for a stainless broomhandle in 9x19mm and start cranking those babies out. Spec them as a 4.25" barrel and a fixed 10 round mag to get around a boat load of anti's legislated stupidity.  S&W would be called for a run of 3" M65's round butts[aka the old FBI pistol] but with a front night sight and another run of M27's with 5" barrels.

With anything left over, I'd also have runs of 32" Handi's with the tang lengthened for proper metal-2-metal mounting of a vernier sight in both .50-70 Govt and .40-65 Winchester. Then runs of Handi's in .280 Ackley Improved, .257 Roberts, .357 Maximum, .32-20, and .25-20. Then talk with the Rossi to have a run of their M92's lever actions in .357 Maximum also.

That would be a good start.  ;)

************
Hey 45-70: Ruger actually has and does make the Black Hawk in .44 Mag with the shorter grip handle and the rounded trigger guard. I don't know if they are CURRENT catalog items but I've seen them up to 5.5 inch in blue and stainless.

I was pretty confused for a while when I was trying to find rubber Hogues for mine. Dealers and shops kept telling me that the  grips marked for the standard Black Hawk and single six wouldn't fit my gun because it was a .44 Mag. marked as a SUPER Black Hawk.

They kept referring me to the grip for the squared trigger guard but this one was too long. I didn't want to buy the wrong one and not be able to return it so I just went with the factory grips untill I discovered heavy duty loads. Two handed was fine but single handed was another issue.

So, I got daring and bought the grip for the STANDARD frame Black Hawk and low and behold, THEY FIT!

I believe also that the Vaqueros in .44 Mag are also on the STANDARD frame. Hope this helps.

I purchased a used ruger super blackhawk in 44mag with a 10 1/2" barrel.  For handgun hunting.  After hammering my RSBH with its 7 1/2" barrel in 44mag i figured i would like the 10 1/2" barrel even better.

I'll play!  ;D

S&W would be called for a run of 3" M65's round butts[aka the old FBI pistol] but with a front night sight
I wrote to them and asked that they make the exact same revoler.  I wanted them to dove tail the barrel and the frame and mount Novak Night sights I also asked that they make the modelin 357 mag along with a 5 shot in 44 Special and if possible a Star full moon clip in 45 ACP  5 shot.
They came out with the S&W 669 the next year.  And now they have the Night hawk series.

With anything left over, I'd also have runs of 32" Handi's with the tang lengthened for proper metal-2-metal mounting of a vernier sight in both .50-70 Govt and .40-65 Winchester.
