what party did they run in and how is that party doing now?

ross perot's party went on to even have a governor
but that party is all but dead now

the primaries are about the best man
the general election is about the lessor of 2 evils if we fail in the primaries
but it is mostly a about stopping the most evil party

Most of these were before the rules were changed to winner take all. and not a percentage of the votes in the state.

the main point i am making..........other than a 3rd party vote is a wasted vote

no third party has a chance in the presidential elections
UNTIL we do away with the electoral college
and i don't see much support for this.....or even it being acknowledged

elect a 3rd party guy to congress
and his district will be ignored for ANY funds
but his people will be taxed the same or more

Kicking the Lesser habit is really hard,
But elect more and more third party people to Congress, and the opposite will happen!
Simple, but very hard to do the first time.It gets easy after a while.Then you actually start to feel good about not being one of the herd.

Your Conservative and Liberal friends will accuse you of losing touch with reality, and shun you for a time. In time they will get over it, and some will even start to listen and doubt their own reasoning.Don't expect this to happen often though.It took me some time to see it.You will no longer have the urge to watch MSNBC or Fox news.You will start to see Bill O., Rush Limbaugh, and Chris Mathews as they really are. Well paid puppets for the Media, who sing to the choir.You won't want to watch any TV. The thought of seeing political ads will make you ill.

I think the only way for a 3rd party to get established is to elect city counsel members, mayors, state senators and representatives, then work their way up to higher offices. I think the tea party movement was on the right track, but got so much ridicule from the left, it confused the middle. Establishment republicans didn't like it. Conservatives and Libertarians must begin to squeek as much as possible, for the wheel to get the grease. The far left is constantly on the attack through their channels. Of course Conservatives and Libertarians have to work for a living. The communists in the 1950's said they would take over education, the entertainment industry, journalism, and any move or cause to bring down America. They said they would take over one of the political parties (democrat) to eventually use Americas laws against her to bring her down. Obama is working hard to get us so far in debt to bring us down. Also, the electoral college works. It helps small states and less populated states have a greater say so in who is elected. Otherwise New York, California, Florida, and Texas could run the country no matter what the other states wanted. We are the United States. The federal government is too big, and we need more states rights.

ELECTORAL COLLEGE doesn't have as much bearing as the winner take all

if we had a popular vote then the winner of that stake gets ALL the votes

thats still as stupid as what we now have

californias vote will be devided NO MATTER how big they are
consilidate with winner take all and the small states get swallowed up

I think I have been saying that over and over till my fingers turned blue.
I really wish the 3rd party people would see that the only way back to conservitives is the same incramentalism that has moved the country so far to the left.
The left has asked the american people to meet them half way when they took two steps to the left and once they did those two steps have been leaps nad bounds. We need to have someone start pulling the country back to the right.
I really wish many of you had taken our advice and over the next four years tell us how bad it is and why they ever let us talk them into Mitt. Now Unfortunatly we will see what Obama has planned for us. Remember he and holder had a discussion about the 2nd amendment and said they may have a right to guns but the second amendment says nothing about the right to ammo for those guns. I suspect a media campaing in the next year or two to attack the fireamrs industry and talking about the far right nut jobs with their guns.
Then will come the attacks on the first, fith, and 10th amendments in power grabs.
Evne the ACLU will be Ok as long as it is a Democrat attacking. We heard so much about the partiot act and how is was so evil, but we did not hear a peep when a Democrat Conress and President extended it.

So suffice to say that was a meager attempt at humor not an actual editorial comment.

I did get your point, and understand what the purpose of the sticky was. However I abhor anything that places me in a slot with no room for flexibility . It subdues debate even if the debate is moronic.

Yes. During the run up to the election some people just couldn't help but turn every thread into a lesser of two evils pi$$ing match. It got to where 40% of the political threads were the same 5 people saying the same two things (my previous post). So I started this thread and semi-limited that topic to the only here. In that respect it worked great. In the sense that any of them changed the other's opinion? lets not be silly...
