Singleshotsam, the one factor that you left out of your equation is that obama was an unknown last time around.  That is not the case this time.  Many of his own supporters from last time do not now like him.  I guess those of us without a crystal ball will just have to wait and see.   

That's what makes the Romney campaign so pathetic. Running against one of the most wildly unpopular incumbents yet Romney still can't even muster a slight lead in the polls.

And you watch within a couple weeks Romney will nominate some no name generic eletist blue blood as his VP

There's not enough nose holders, agnostic swing voters and scared indipendents in the world to elect Romney even if they all voted in solidarity. Romney was painfully unelectable last time and nothing's changes since then.

But again the most important factor of all is that TEN X in the $$$ dpt.

THE ONLY THING Romney has won since his governorship is this primary that he won with less than half the primaries given via his chief  competitor dropping out.

But you know what. None of this has a bearing on how the Chicago machine will chew Romney up worse than they did McCain. 

At least McCain had some charisma, principal, was a war hero and had a very electrifying VP pick. Romney is none of those things.

Yeah, so?  GWB lost a lot of supporters also and still wound up with a 2nd term... When you run a weak candidate against a strong one the end result is predictable.

The really bad part of it is that just like the last election, all your lesser of two evils talk will be useless and Obama will win reguardless.  You can't keep backing weak candidates and expect them to win against one who has a strong presence in the mainstream.  It happened to John Kerry, It happened to John McCain and it will happen with Mitt Romney... again.

first, freeze all spending.  evaluate EVERY department and eliminate all or part of each dept that does not pass constitutional muster. eliminate the IRS and set a flat tax so EVERYONE pays the same percentage. eliminate our dependence on foreign oil "easily done" just ask Dixie Dude...
