Handi rifle problem?
« on: April 06, 2012, 11:23:02 AM »
Hello,
I have a Handi Rifle in 223/243 and 7.62x39.
All barrel fitting has been at the factory.
The 223/243 fire great .quite accurate too.
The 7.62x39 doesn't fire so well.
I'm using Wolf and Herters Ammo and I
have to recock mutiple times before the bang.
Sometimes no bang at all.
Anyone been thru this before?
I know this isn't quality ammo but I
have 700 rds.
Thank you much
ron

It's not really a Handi rifle problem, it's a shooter problem, use good ammo and it'll work fine, shooter use of cheap milsurp is why it was discontinued.

Thankyou,
That's what I was guessing.
I'm gonna pull all the rounds and reassemble
them in my brass with my primers.
Thanks again
Ron

Thanks for the info but I had one not
too long ago and the rear site in the
middle of the gun just didn't suit me.
I also have a K31 and MN with the same
siting system and I'm gonna deep 6
them.

ron,

I agree, I sold my SKSs several years ago.  They always went bang but they were crude and not really that much fun to shoot.

The only thing I can say for the SKS, it goes bang.  Stock is too short, poor trigger, poor sights, not accurate, but is goes bang every time, even with that third world ammo.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I pulled 12 rds and that is more than enuff
for my lifetime.
It's like driving a 20d spike everytime,worse.
I'm gonna have to get rid of these Herters and
wolf bullets. I'll take the loss, cheap learning experience.
Also, what's the deal with large and small primers
in the R P brass I have?
Same as the 6.8spc ?
