STorage life of LBT bullet lubes
« on: April 06, 2012, 07:01:11 PM »
A customer recently contacted me and stated his delight that I was still in business.

He had purchased a bulk pack of LBT Blue lube about 30 years ago as close as we could figgure after some discussion, and was down to the end of it, greatly dreading the disaster he would be in if he couldn't get more.

That is the oldest report I have about shelf life of our lube, and it dates to our beginning.  Interesting thing about the conversation, when I thought on it later, he never mentioned any change in the lube of any kind, so I'm going to presume there was none, and for a fact there was no performance change, which is the critical factor.

For the record, I have never seen a bullet lubed with our lube, with dried out lube.  It always looks new as long as it isn't dirtied.

So if you want to make up ammo for storage and be sure of performance many years from now, or if you just want to be sure that you have the highest quality lube available many years from now, you can trust the life of our lube.

One the advice of Kelly Brost I purchase a case of Blue Soft from Judy while you were away on vacation. The lube has changed storage locations twice but is still in "as new" shape.

i don't know how long it will last. but i do know it good. i cast some 45-70 bullets last week just on a whim i toke one a soon as i could handle it . ran it through my sizer and shot it with a fairly hot load with no problems.so i know it will not melt off.i am going to order more so if I'm not here in 30 years my son will use it. also i have some in a metal shed that got to 120degrees and it is good to go
