« on: April 09, 2012, 08:22:29 PM »
just a brag i picked up a Stevens single shot model 35 in real good condition. no rust or pitting but not much blue left on it either. the more i handle it the more i like it. 8 inch blr. i did find out they were made between 1923 and 1940. i think i got it for a fair price. so far just shot it with cb caps in the house cant wait to get to the range. argie1891

I hope the knee replacement went well and your wife recovers with a minimum of pain.

I have 3 and I love them! They are classics and all mine shoot same spot .22 Colibri up through high velocity rounds. Way accurate and great sights. Great find!

I remember the model 10's, 34's, 35's, 41's, 42's, 43's, etc being called many names... tipups, target single-shot, pocket rifle, bicycle, offhand, hunters pet and horse pistols for a few.   When I had a gun shop in the early 70's I restored several for customers to original.   I owned quite a few of them in the 60's and 70's and used mine for tree squirrel hunting mostly.   Put 1X scopes on a couple, rebarreled a couple to carbine length and made buttstocks for them.  Rechambered one to 22 Win Auto... easy to find cheap ammo back then, rare and collectable ammo now.   Fun little pistols that could be made to be quite accurate and reliable.    Made a great backup for all the Stevens Favorite's I had back then as well.
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

i have my gpas stevens tip up 22 pistol. 6 inch barrel, nickel reciever. he said he skinned many a skunk to buy it.i carried it for years on the trapline and still carry it if i set a few traps. i once watched him shoot a groundhog at about 60 yrds in the head with a 22 short out of it.he jus acted like he did it all the time but later told me it was a pretty lucky shot. lol
