.460 s&w
« on: April 10, 2012, 12:02:15 PM »
im not going to make this to dificult a question , i got the lee  300 grn flatnose gas check bullet mold for me .460 encore .
and as other .460 shooters have probably noticed  there isnt a lot of cast bullet load data out there .
so i thought i would see what some of your thoughts are  and see how they line up with my own  .

so heres the question  ,  in an encore  with a 15 inch barrel  ,  the lee 300 grn gas check bullets  a fed match primer  and using 2400  for a powder where would you start with your powder charge ?

I would call the powder manufacturer to see what they suggest.

I'd use Alliant jacketed data for the Speer 300gr GDHP.

You can use jacketed bullet data for cast bullets, but not the other way around. Lead bullets do not offer the resistance that jacketed bullets do.
